Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

Here you go Duke.

as always, thanks for the recruiting info my man. But I guess I was wondering if any of the CO HS guys on allbuffs (Sacky?) had any info on how he was performing. You look at his scout profile and it seems impressive, but he didn't really play too much this year. Am I wrong? If I remember, he was mostly on the bench, and I'm just wondering how his development is coming along.

I think Dave Logan is a CU backer, but he lets his players choose for themselves where they want to go. I like that approach. I'm a huge CU guy, but if I was a head coach, I'd let them go where they want to go. They need to make this decision based for themselves and their families, so even if it means CSU or NU, they have to be encouraged to make their best decision. I'm sure he gives CU props when he can, but pushing them to Boulder, he probably doesn't do that - and I don't blame him. This is all what I think though, and I could be completely wrong - maybe he actually does not like CU...doubt it though.

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

CU has had some very good players out of Mullen but you have to be carefull in who you take from there. They have enough good players that they tend to overwhelm a lot of the schools they play. It is sometimes hard to get a sense of a guy, is he that good or is he a product of the system and made to look better by his teammates.

Obviously the coaches have a lot better sense of this than we do but we have to resist the urge to go nuts for a guy who is a product of his surroundings. There are a number of players that have gotten a lot of publicity out of Mullen who tended to disappear in college.

With a kid like Miller who has not played a lot while games are still competitive it is especially hard for us to tell.

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

Miller was the back up to Tancik I believe. Isn't Miller's dad a huge Nub fan?

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

Is Logan mad at CU? Wonder why we don't get many looks from Mullen guys?

I don't understood it either, kind of like Sam Pagano at Fairview in the 70's & 80's, all of his studs seemed to go to USC (Tony Boselli being one).

Sam Pagano was a cheating bastard. Can somebody tell me how Scott Lockwood, who literally lived within a stone's throw of Niwot High School, managed to end up at Fairview, which is 20 miles away and in a different school district?

Boselli is another example. The kid lived in NORTH Boulder. For those of you not in the know, that's the BHS district. Fairview is on the South end of town.

I'll despise Pagano until the day I die. As will all BHS grads.

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

We do NOT want this guy....take that to heart when the only Mullen backer here states it....Mullen has many bettter recruits to go after & Jonny Miller is not going to be a solid QB because he has never been one in H.S.

It's one thing to be a shaky QB and it's a whole other telling story to be one when you have the best O-line & Running game in the state. Not to mention a few very solid receivers.

But I do agree with others and wish Logan would be more of a Homer for the Buffs as it dissappoints me when many of these guys end up going to big out of state programs instead. We have had our fair share of Mullen guys though (Brian & Shaun Daniels, Bryce Givens, Steph Robinson, Ben Burney...etc. etc.)

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

On Wednesday afternoon, Hawk was on Dave Logan's radio show. Towards the end, they were talking about building relationships with HS coaches. Hawk says to Lois (Dave's co-host): "Hey Lois, I hear you might have a connection with the head coach at Mullen. Can you help me out? I can't get the guy to return my calls."

That's classic  ....hopefully Hawk & Logan hook up for some of the studs coming in the next couple of years at Mullen....Onyeali & Ameen-Moore please!!!!!!!!!

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

A&M seems to be entering the picture here. Might open up a QB in Texas that would normally be headed to College Station.

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

It always sort of bugged me that anyone who wants to fill out a rivals profile can name his schools and get his name in lights. I first noticed Miller on Rivals his Soph year and then I watched some game tape and he wasn't playing.... I looked again this year, and still not playing...

Hey, I hear Longmont High School has 7-8 Seniors-to-be who have yet to start on varsity that might merit a space here..... I guess none of them have the HUEVOS to fill out a Rivals Profile?

I wish we'd not publish their names here in lights unless they have an offer or we have a good feel that they are being recruited to play here (camped, official visit, etc)... Just me?

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

It would take a miracle to pull this kid. I think his pops already hates CU for not offering his other kid. Jimmy. He ended up at SDSU i think. Another think against us is Jimmy is a big fusker fan.

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

Speaking of Mullen kids, what's the name of the kid who's Brandon Marshall's cousin or nephew that's a WR? Is he a 2010 or 2011 kid?

Re: '10 CO QB Jonny Miller

And he's a legit D-1 talent, correct?

He is definately a very good receiver. Has a lot of raw talent and doesn't get to display it very much mainly because Jonny Miller is not good...and they run the ball very well.

Rayshon...will be a definate high level D-1 recruit, and we will have to battle it out with Florida schools to land him as that's where he's from

Your right, He'll end up at texas a&m. His family may like the huskers but he would probally be a walk-on, NU has 5 Qb's that are all freshmen or soph's

If he is a Husker fan than he obviously doesn't have the smarts to be a Buff:smile2:

I wish nothing but the best for Jonny. I don't really have anything against the kid. I just wonder if he'll see any BCS schools actually offer when he can't seem to lock down his HS QB spot. In all fairness, he did get hurt, but I've heard a lot of question marks on him.

I hope he has a great season with Mullen. They have a lot of talent. I hope he proves me wrong. Good luck Jonny.
