Official thread for Oklahoma/Florida Consolation Game

Today is gameday!

Who knows how either one of these teams play considering how much time they have had off. I suppose I will go with OU but I am hoping for a sloppy horrible game with tons of penalties and a 9-3 kind of score... Something that gives Utah more of an argument to make this whole BCS thing look stupid and force them to create a playoff.

Realistically, I will say OU 42, Floirda 31, and everyone forgets about Utah after a few days.

I certainly don't hope for a sloppy game. I hope OU destroys Florida. I'm tired of seeing the Gators in the Championship game and I'd really like to see Oklahoma represent the Big XII well in a dominating blow out. (unlikely) I hope they win nonetheless.

I'm with ya. I'm hoping for an Oklahoma blowout, but in all likelihood it'll be somewhere in the neighborhood of 35-31 going either way, IMO.

Your screwed. The Gator's are going to "wreck it"

Troo, troo. In all honesty I think Florida has a better chance of blowing out OU, but we'll see.

Gators have speed everywhere on their team. More speed at more positions than any other team in the SEC. The Sooners are a good team but no better than Alabama. It should be a good game.

I'm a bit surprised that OU is the underdog here because they have more impressive wins - they destroyed Missouri and TT, soundly beat OSU and TCU, and their one loss was to a UT team that will finish in the top 3 or 4 of the final polls.

The one thing I'm concerned about for OU is that this will be the best defense they've faced and sometimes a high-powered offense will just get totally shut down by a very good defense. The OU offense vs. the UF defense will be the important battle in this game, and if either side wins that battle decisively this will be a blowout. But I think that will essentially be a draw and OU wins 38-28.

If this game is one sided it will be one sided by Florida. I now kind of hope it is one sided so the debate will become about how, yet again, a team got left out.

I'm definitely rooting for OU in this one. We'll see how it turns out, though. I think UF has too many weapons and is too strong & fast on defense. OU has not seen a team like UF this year. The closest they came was when they played UT, and they lost. That's not a good sign as far as I'm concerned.

Florida may have speed to spare but OU has size that the Florida D just can't handle. If they can get a body on them, it's over. BOOMER.

Perhaps, but that doesn't play into OU's strength, which is the passing game. If OU wants to out-muscle UF, that means running it right at them, gaining 4-6 yards per carry, then play action them to death.

I think Florida is going to walk away with it. I'll say Gators 45, Boomer 24.

The games fail to meet expectations more often than not.

That, and the OU RB is injured, right?

The big 12 really does not match up when actually playing the SEC.
Couldn't tell you why, but the SEC always seems more sound and less likely to dissapoint. they never lose big.
I just can't imagine OU being able to spread it around against this zippy UF team. but who knows. College football is never won on paper.
My gut says UF wins though. and maybe by a LOT

Boomer Sooner!

But I have a bad feeling that Tim Tebgay is going to have a day and run around the side lines like the obnoxious spaz he is...

:puke:

I hope God finally smites him down.

I hope that he was able to get some little Phillipino children he met on his last spring break missionary trip to come to the game and as he is running down the sideline to score the winning touchdown, one of them tries to give him a hug and he trips as time expires and he loses the national championship. He then tries to rip the kid's head off, but fails because many cops are around and they all empty their clips on Tebow's chest and face and there are 5 different camera angles and they are put on DVD and it sells more copies than Paris Hilton's sex tape.

The OU Landthieves have a better O-line than most pro teams so they will score a lot of points. The swampers with Gaybow as the running back will be shut down, The OU coaches are very good and they will put a spy on him, creating a Mudhole with a crawdad in it. I am taking the T-Bones out of the freezer and the Beer is in the fridge. Go OU and kick some Gator ass for stealing Nick Kasa, a guy we needed to be a Buff.

Bobby's bowl record is 4-5 (surprisingly crappy considering the success of the program) and if you look at the results he tends to lose the high scoring ones and win the low scoring ones. (see below)

I don't think the OU D will be able to keep the score low so my bet is with UF.
