Do Something Constructive

I don't understand how people can moan about Hawkins on an Internet chat board, and also ridicule recruiting. Are you guys in anyway being constructive? If you hate Hawkins, go grab a buddy and talk about it in the bars. Don't place mutinous thoughts in plain view of a recruit! How in the world is Hawkins suppose to recruit 5 stars, when that recruit goes on this board and sees what he sees.
FYI - For any recruits thinking about CU, this program is on the rise. Consider the following -

1)What does Kansas have that the Buffs don't?
How about longevity. Their coaching staff has remained intact. Guys,
Mangino in his first five years went 0-8, 3-5, 2-6, 3-5, 3-5 in Big
12 play. In his first three years, Hawkins has gone 2-6, 4-4, 2-6.
Comparing the first three seasons shows that Hawkins is on
comparable basis to Mangino.
2) Why can't the Buffs be as good as Missouri?
We don't have a quarterback as good as Chase Daniels. If we inserted
a quaterback of that caliber into our offense, do you suppose our
offense would still be sputtering? Also, please note Gary Pinkel had
a 50% winning percentage through 5 years. I'm astonished how most of
would want Hawk's head if he were to have a similar record. If we
fire Hawkins now, it would be akin to letting Pinkel go after four
years. What if Mizzou had fired Pinkel? Well, it would be at ground
1, with no foundation.
Why else shouldn't we fire Hawkins?
3) Finally, I'm a CU student. I've attended a lecture from Coach
Hawkins...That man is one Hell of an ambassador for this school.
Ultimately, we should have a football coach that not only betters a
football team, but betters the university. Coach Hawkins makes me
proud to be Buff.

All Good points Canada BUFF. I'm not sure however, that the majority of Buff fans will give Hawkins much past next season to show them the W's.

All of us will have to simply wait and see.

Hawkins is nowhere NEAR a 50% win percentage here and won't be for several years, assuming he starts winning next year. Not even close.

Did you really expect an immediate turnaround? With what he took over?

I don't want to turn this into a played out GB bashing thread, but he didn't really assume much of a program. There were some bright spots with Dizon and Wheatley imo. But I don't think very many people were expecting some kind of 180. I think all of us knew, whether we want to admit it or not, that this would be a project.

Except for JimmyBuff. He knew this stuff before it happened.:smile2:

Why are we using Kansas or Missouri as examples to follow? What has either program accomplished?

Recent BCS and Cotton Bowl wins, and top 25 finishes with national recogniton. Something we havent done in over 9 years.

Ah I forgot that Kansas won the Orange Bowl. So yea that's a solid point. I guess I was more focused on the fact that they have 0 Big XII Championships and only 2 North Championships between the two.

I guess we'll see how both coaches fare without Reesing/Daniel.
