CU #22 in Prestige Poll

How does Vanderbilt finish behind New Mexico State, or Iowa State for that matter? I realize they're usually terrible, but come on, they play in the SEC for god's sake.

Not bad at all... when I heard about ESPN's latest gimick I figured Cu would end up about 40-60.

Thank god for all those skiing and cross country titles!

Yeppers. In football alone we #22. That's pretty good. Some love for Cu from ESPN for a change.

The Top 20 are revealed all this week ...

My guesses:

1. Notre Dame
2. USC
3. Michigan
4. Ohio State
5. Texas
6. Alabama

Oklahoma, Penn State, Nebraska, Washington .... blah blah blah

historically, i wouldn't put tOSU over Bama, Oklahoma or Texas.

oh great, cornholios will be top 10. idots.

Well, they did manage to go for something like 40 years without losing more than a game or two (I don't mean per season either). They have a strong fan base and a full stadium.

From our perspective, many of their fans are hypocritical and lame, but that's off the radar for much of the nation.

It's hard to keep them out of the top ten. It doesn't change my opinion of the program. Sadly there's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy here. The nebraska staff will go into every recruits' home waving this ranking...

I know, I know. Just because you're right doesnt mean we can b**** about it.

Guess what I have an exam on tomorrow?

JOPES!!:keule::doh:

Number 6 through 10 are in:

6. Alabama
7. Texas
8. Michigan
9. Florida State
10. Miami

Cornholios must be Top 5 .........

Top 5 kinda easy to predict now, only the order is left to be determined .....

GUESSING:

1. Notre Dame
2. USC
3. Oklahoma
4. Ohio State
5. Nebraska
The numbers I guessed, but the schools are pretty much for sure.

We'll know Friday

Notre Dame hasn't done **** the last 20 years. Also, I would rate Texas ahead of OU.

i wouldn't. the old SWC was patsy city....Rice, TCU, Houston (minus a couple years), Baylor, Tech? how many "true" road games is UT playing at Rice Stadium? UT has years where they never play a game outside the state of Texas.

I would go with, for the sake of being called a homer too...

1. Oklahoma

2. USC

3. tOSU

4. ND

5. Nebraksa

why you ask.... its already a proven fact that OU is the "best" team in the "moderen" era of college football.... what could change all this....

Walrus.... I'll let ESPN explain why OU is rated over Texas too once this comes out. I may add a little more here and there....

I'd argue that USC has been more impressive in the "modern era". Both USC and OU were pretty much MIA in the 90's when nebraska was running amok.

ND is ND, and for some reason that means something to people. What they've got is history and two movies, but history is actually where OU shines (sans the movies).

wow :wow: I was spot on with my top 5 picks...

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3849468

heck no mention of being the only team with 4 coaches with 100+ victories, nor the fact they have 3 30+ game winning streaks, (did mention the 47 game winning streak but was not used in their formula), 1st team to score 30,000 points. they did mention conference championshisp and their success here, nothing specific, say like in the Big XII where they could have said OU has one less conference championship than all the 11 other schools combined or more than all the other South schools combined, same with the North too. they did mention the total number of weeks being ranked #1 in the Ap poll, also more than anyone else breaking a tie with ND this year. Also best winning prcentage .765 since WWII, (need to find where USC is on this for your argument about best in the modern ere Walrus :smile2:).

Hey Leash where does Texas fit in to all the things I mentioned above if they are to be ranked over OU as you say. I'd like to read some stats here (as i really liked how you presented the stats for John Elway) plus lets add NC, AP or BCS since 1946.

Don't agree with tOSU, or ND being in front of us, but whatever. We have been pretty much non-existent since 2000-2001, but this season was pretty decent. You knew USC was going to be up there due to the massive love fest ESPN has with them. No matter the formula used.....................

Hard to qualify recruits to Vandy, kinda like Northwestern. NW came after buffson and he would have committed if they offered but a D in Spanish his Jr year keep them from offering.
