When was the last time we had one? Did Hugh ever go over 1,000 for a season or was it back in the Chris Brown/Bobby Purify days?

We'll have two this year.

We won't. We run too many lol. We have like 3 starting IB's lol.

I'd be very surprised if we have 2 1000 yard rushers this year. unless a couple of our backs fall flat on the their face or get hurt, I expect to see the carries being spread among DS, Speedy, Lockridge, Sumler, and (if he beats out Cody) Hanson.

And that is fine by me. Fresh legs in the 4th qtr will pay dividends.

We need a feature back though. I think Scott will win that out. He will get the majority of reps with his breakout sophomore season.

I do think we can have a tandem similar to Bieniemy and Flannagin with Scott and Speedy. I really can visualize it.:smile2:

Based on last year's results, if we can get Speedy and Scott 20 carries each per game, they'll both have over 1,000 yards by the end of the season. I expect both to play better than they did in 2008, especially Scott.

Looking at Scott's numbers, he averaged 3.94 YPC. That's not terrible for a guy who was dinged up all year long.

I'm very excited to see what these two can do behind a massive O-Line and a fullback with an attitude.

Scott should have scored on that long run vs. A&M, it was a sweet run and looked like him in his HS vids!

Hugh went over 1,000 if you count the bowl game vs. 'Bama, which the CU SID does not. Alot of other schools count bowl game stats now, but CU does not. So Purify was "the last," and Brown before him (nearly 2,000 in 2002).

Yep, Brown was on pace to get to 2,000 and be invited to NYC for the Heisman voting in 2002 with like 3 games left and then he got injured.:sad2:

Yep, happened in the 2nd quarter vs Iowa State. He would have gotten 2,000. Calhoun got to show his talent in the nebraska game in lincoln. Too bad we couldn't keep him at CU for his final 2 years. He shined at wisconsin.

Speedy would have posted 1,000 last year if he hadn't gotten hurt in the first half of game nine. Stewart finished with 662 yards, and that includes having only 13 carries in the first two games, and only five carries against A&M before he was injured. With 3 1/2 games to play, he could have reached 1,000 - with a makeshift offensive line.

With a fully stocked line and a full year to post numbers, there will be a 1,000 yard rusher for CU this fall. Book it.
