I focused mayinly on the defense today.

DL: A group that looks fantastic on paper and in position drills but then the players that looked great in drills cant do anything against the OL and the kids who were being talked to on a lot of the drills go to work against the OL. Goree (sp?) had his moments today and I could see him really getting in the QB's face during the drills. Also Herrod was putting pressure on the QB on quite a few plays. My big thing is that putting pressure on the QB is very different from actually getting to the QB. Hopefully Kasa, Nikolas and Nosu (Not sure if I got the last 2 right) come in and can make an impact

LB: We might not be in that bad of shape if Katoa cant get it together. Beatty, Rippy, Sip and even Smart showed glimpses of genius today. There was a drill where a RB or TE and a LB would get matched up one on one and no surprise but the RB's won almost every battle based upon speed, however, Rippy was able to get a hand in and swat down a corner pass to Moyd and Beatty was able to catch up to an underthrown Hawkins pass to Speedy and knock that one down as well.

S/CB: Perkins had a solid int/fumble recovery and strip (couldnt tell because players were in the way) during drills and took it back for 6 and he also realizes that Polk could give him a run for his money and it seems that he really wants to see the field. Burney and Jimmy Smith were all over the ball today, once again I think Coach Brown has his work cut out for him and this position will carry our defense.

ST: Of the few field goals I watched almost all except one goodman kick was right down the pipes. I do think his new approach will drastically make a difference, but I wouldnt be surprised if Grossnickle came in and kicked for 4 years based on accuracy from a distance

good report, thanks. what was the especially good news forthcoming? kicking? Cause he made everything in practice last year too.

Good info.....how did C. Cunningham (DL) look? and was J. Major (LB) around, and if so how was the knee looking.....GO BUFFS!!!!!

Good news was seen as A) no injuries (other than JFly which wasnt serious at all) and B) the secondary being an extremely strong aspect of our team

I also wouldnt be surprised if in 2 years we saw quite a few buffs at the combine

Didnt notice Cunningham I was more interested on the kids who didnt have much (if any) PT who were expected to step up. Major I didnt see practicing but I could have accidentally overlooked him.

It looks like everyone (for the most part) who had injuries last year have come back strong. Miller, Speedy, Beherens, Burney. Some are still limited but they are all playing strong

cool, yeah i think we got a couple very talented corners with a lot of confidence and swagger. burney reminds of asante samuel with the hair.

Good stuff. I am very excited to see Beatty for a whole season.

Cabral said sipili is looking great. With mohler and beatty we are fine but i'd like to see sipili, major step in and also rippy. Smart and burton are okay. I doubt katoa will ever see the field, just an opinion.

The LB's have to be a much bigger force in this defense than they were last year. Stopping the run, tackling and pressure.
