Hawkins called the first week of spring ball "about the best first week we've had." Friday was the first fully padded practice with a few sessions where tackling was allowed. ...
Hawkins said the overall experience of the team is showing.

Best first week they've had? Obviously this staff has the team peaking WAY too early. By the time the season starts for real, it's going to wear off. When will this staff figure out it's not the first week that matters, but the last??

And the defense went almost the whole first week of spring without making even one tackle? Figures. Collins has GOT to go, and with the lack of DTs, we'll probably go whole months in conference play where we don't make a tackle.

And even Hawk admits the team is looking old. Old=slow. Why is it nobody is talking about how we've got an old, slow team that can't tackle and is peaking at the totally wrong time of the year. What a mess. :sad1:

Share the brownies, man.

with those type of grandiose hallucinations, we are not talking pot brownies.

on a serious note, though, this is the most optimistic I've been since becoming a fan of CU in 2003. All I need is someone to get me pumped about the d-line, and then all my insecurities (at least pertaining to our Buffs) will melt away.

Not to quibble, but thanks to the idiotic BCS the championship game in the Rose Bowl Stadium isn't actually the Rose Bowl, which is still played on new years day.

Thats the really stupid thing about the way the BCS is now, they say they are preserving the bowl system but the actual bowls not only don't decide the national championship, they don't even decide who plays in the national championship game.

But hey, if we are playing for the championship I don't care what they call it.
