an outdoor scrimmage today would be a mess

it's snowing/raining pretty hard in Boulder after a long morning of drizzle and slush. it's really wet and not real pleasant out, to be honest. snowing hard and 34 degrees. it's purse slush on the ground. like a slurpee.

maybe 1997 we had a spring game in weather like this? 98?

aside: i went to the bank and the King Sooper's at 30th and Arapahoe just now. they are remodeling the King's and it's leaking water all over the store. about 2/3'rd of aisles are closed off with at least an inch of standing water. the whole place is a disaster....in addition to the store being a cluster-F because of the re-model. people are freaking out. it's a bad scene.

good call Hawk, on in the indoor move.
 
I worked at that King Soopers during my last 2 years at CU. The typical patrons there already freak out over the smallest things. I can only image what a near shutdown would do to them.
 
That location does get some interesting characters. BTW, poorly designed shopping center FTL!

no doubt. I know the owner of that little pasta place in there, he's a buddy of mine.

i tell ya, somebody is losing money, remodel, and work hours (and possibly a lot of stock, as in food) today at that King's...unless someone figures out that the hell is going on. i got about half what i had on my list and got out ASAP. because of the remodel, nothing is where it's supposed to be....it's a mix of the old store layout and the new cooling systems and new layout....it's pretty jacked up inside. the whole "consumer" environment has completely collapsed. total confusion, with water raining from the roof....in virtually every aisle. doesn't appear that anyone is charge. you've got construction guys standing around, the full battery of King's employees, and when i left the managers were all standing outside.

i'm almost tempted to go out there with camera and shoot some video...just to see what happens. it's supposed to keep doing this all day into the night.

You should run in and yell, "Food fight!!!!!". Then record, post video here if you please.
 
imagine. it's raining inside the store, more or less. independent of this, to get from the veggies/fruit/deli area to the checkout lanes you have to walk to the back of the store, through a tunnel of unassembled freezer/coolers, and then 14 aisles past the meat, dairy etc. and then back down aisle 14 to the front of the store to check out. all the human traffic is in a big L shape at the back of the store with only about 5 aisles (out of 22 or something) to take you to the checkout (half of them, including all the self-checkouts which are covered with tarps, are closed).

to get people out of the store is like filling up an empty beer can with marbles and trying to shake them out of the pop-top, one by one. or hunting quail, you get em backed against some trees and when they get up they only have one place to go....where you standing and shooting. once you get in deep in the store, you're screwed. and it's raining on you. like i said, the consumer environment has collapsed.

not too far off, :lol: once people realize that resources are scarce, they'll form clans and start territorializing the space.

if it wasn't Friday, i might go out there and shoot some video. too lazy, and my career in documentary film making ends before it starts.

The only job I ever got fired from was working at that store. :lol:
 
The rammies spring game was scheduled for tomorrow. They are planning the game, but have cancelled all related events, kiddie games, etc. due to the snow dump.

Moving the buff's to late spring will prove clever on several levels if we have decent weather on the 25th.
