Immediate Impact

Which of the incoming recruits will have an immediate impact?

PG Shannon Sharpe
SG Alec Burks
SF Keegan Hornbuckle
F Marcus Relphorde
C Shane Harris-Tunks

My pick is Tunks. I know a lot of people are saying he isn't ready, but I think he'll give our bigs a boost once he steps on campus.

It's hard to say. It's pretty tough for most freshmen to make an immediate impact, but based on position alone, I think the opportunity is there for Shane Harris-Tunks. We should be pretty solid at the other positions, which means we can finally have some freshmen as role players instead of starters! The way it should be!

Burks seems pretty solid. I think we'll see him off the bench quite a bit. Harris-Tunks will get PT by default basically. Same with Relphorde IMO.

Relphorde just due to physical maturity and having some size. However, I hope Burks joins him. Burks supposedly has the ability to help handle the point as well as the two spot. I think his versatility will really help him see court time. I do hope we can somehow also get Hornbuckle in the rotation for his development.

I hope Tunks plays his way into games, as Bz does not have any qualms about not playing kids. He is tall, but he just seems too skinny. Who knows though - Birdman is skinny too...

I could see both Relphorde and Burks seeing a lot of playing time next year. Still unsure about Harris-Tunks.

if Relphorde is a legit D-1 post/small forward and doesn't have an excess of "system" adjustment problems....i don't see how he doesn't step in and give 20-25 minutes just due to current personnel.

i liked what i heard about Burks on Mizzou boards.

Anyone have any pics of Tunks? Some say he is too skinny, but espn says he is physical and has a body ready for Big12 play.

Ouch that is an ugly shot, most places are listing the kid between 6-10 and 7-0 and at 240-250 as a senior in HS. I'd imagine he can find a few pounds between now and conference play.

Hoping it's Harris-Tunks. Really will be the only true center we'll have next season.
