It was just posted on Rivals that "The Score" is a new show on AM 1510 radio that is debuting tomorrow. Hosted by Jim Armstrong & Les Shapiro, it's a Denver sports talk show airing daily from 7-10 am.

Guess who their first guest is?

Flippin' Tom Osborne!

**** "The Score"!

**** 1510!

I'm boycotting.

:pissed:

EDIT: Softening my stance now. The Osborne thing definitely rubbed me the wrong way, but word is that "The Score" has made a commitment to a primary focus on CU athletics. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and try to support the show. CU needs a friendly radio outlet.

Sports talk radio should be boycotted in general.

I hope they take phone calls. It would be great to call out Osborne for voting for Ga Tech and not CU. I'm sure they have a seven second delay so much of what I'd have to say would be cut.

Re: Boycott AM 1510 (or at least "The Score")

Boycott? What are we, aggy?

Re: Boycott AM 1510 (or at least "The Score")

What is our proof of Osbourne voting CU 3rd?

I can't provide any "proof" but I did grab this tidbit from wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1990_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_season

When the final votes were counted, Colorado had won their first national champion as voted by the Associated Press. The UPI coaches poll, however, saw a shake-up that resulted in Georgia Tech moving to #1 by a total of one point. The deciding vote was cast by Nebraska coach Tom Osborne, the only coach who had played both teams during the 1990 season. Colorado beat Nebraska 27-12 while Georgia Tech had beaten them in the Florida Citrus Bowl, 45-21.

If I'm not mistaken, Colorado played 4 teams that finished in the top 12 that season, and additionally played 4 different conference champions.

Georgia Tech, to their credit, beat the snot out of a nebraska team that gave up 90 points in its last two games, and finished their season without a loss. They did the most they could with their schedule, but it wasn't much of a schedule.

The GT fans I meet are fond of pointing out the infamous 5th down. Would we have won that game without it? Who knows, the officials denied us the chance to find out. I'm pretty sure, however, that Charles Johnson (the QB obviously, not the receiver) wouldn't have spiked the ball 4th, if he knew it was in fact 4th down. In fact, he spiked the ball twice in that stand.

Re: Boycott AM 1510 (or at least "The Score")

Wasn't that the season when you cheated with the 5th down?

Re: Boycott AM 1510 (or at least "The Score")

Yea, a boycott. Makes sense to me. I don't want any Buff fan to listen to anything Tom O. has to say.

Re: Boycott AM 1510 (or at least "The Score")

Armstrong is a fool, I cannot stand his radio "persona". He thinks he's a star with all of his moronic cliche's - "Don't go there!" "I don't think so"! I expect to hear him say "Where's the Beef?" at any time.

Personally I'd like to hear Osburne talk about hiding guns for his players and also playing Phillips in the bowl game.

Exactly, exactly, exactly. I love how people just blindly say "they got 5 downs, therefore they cheated" without knowing the full story. You have to translate for the idots - when Johson scored on what was actually 5th down, well, if the down markers had been right then that play would've been run on 4th down.

They would have a much better case arguing that Johnson didn't make it to the endzone.

Another thing people conveniently like to ignore is CU actually dropped in the polls 2 spots from 12th to 14th after that win.

I've called talk shows, and generally as long as you don't use profanity, you can say what you want. Make damn sure you get what you want in your first statement because they will cut you off. If you rip him in your first statement - he will get the opportunity to answer, and they will probably cut you off, but you will get that one shot.

Re: Boycott AM 1510 (or at least "The Score")

I made the mistake of listening to the interview.
Osborne is in town whoring his new book.
Les asked Osborne about the CU/knu rivalry and he still to this day denies it.
Also stands by his vote for Ga Tech.
What a f u c ki n g phoney.

Hey man, it's that awesome denver media promoting the Colorado schools and Colorado football. See how much the CU-CSU game draws so much hype...oh wait....nice first guest...

Re: Boycott AM 1510 (or at least "The Score")

Osborne is a pussy. For one, the reason he voted GT #1 is because he didn't want Mac to win a mnc before he did. Second, he knew the balance of power in the new big 12 would shift to the south, so what does he do? He retires shortly after the Big 12 is formed. ****ing pussy of a coach and a cheater who hides his players guns and steroid use. **** that devil of a pussy muther ****ing loser coach, **** him! Oh and **** Nebraska!

**** him! I am actually glad he still doesn't acknowledge the CU game as a rivalry, that will rub off on Bo peep and give Colorado that much more of an advantage in the game. Go ahead Osborne and all you arrogant fuskers, OU aint your rival, you don't play them enough and they usually kick your ass every time you meet up. Nu has NO rival!

Um, Leash...you might want to ammend that last sentence. I don't think it means what you think it does.

Here is what really shows the height of the hypocrisy - Bob Devaney was the AD for NU at that time. Early in that year CU started our slowly and the Huskers were a NO. 1 contender, Devaney publicly pleaded for all the Big 8 coaches to vote NU number 1 in the coaches poll saying that it was good for the conference and the Big 8 had to stick together. Then at the end of the season TO goes counter to what their own AD was espousing.
