Nuckols

Latest I've hear is that he's on campus (posting Tweets about how bored he is) and feels like he did what he needed to do in order to clear NCAA and CU admissions. Hopefully he's cleared in the next 2 weeks so he's squared away for the 1st practice.

I think Kyle overstated the concern in a Scout article with a somewhat dramatic headline.

Like everyone else, I hope he gets in. Also, I hope he's not bored for long--if he's doing it right he won't be. The whole student-athlete gig looks pretty intense.

Agreed. Ringo thought of that "very clever" title and couldn't resist. Others reported he was in good shape. We sure need him in here, ready to play.

He will tear Pittman apart before it's over. We got some stocky younsters for the middle right now in Cunningham, Goree, Bonsu and Nuckols. Should be quite competitive in there for a long time given Goree is the old man of the group as a RS-Sophomore.

Well, no pressure on Nate Bonsu now...

Nuckols enrollment delayed..along with Moten.:sad2:

Josh Moten, a quarterback/athlete from Carson, Calif., is still awaiting certification from the NCAA Clearinghouse and can no longer participate in voluntary workouts with his future teammates until he is officially eligible. It could take anywhere from one to four weeks for that determination.

Edward Nuckols, a defensive tackle from San Marcos, Calif., is also still awaiting certification from the NCAA Clearinghouse but also needs to do some work to become academically eligible. Hawkins indicated that Nuckols would tend to those academic matters this fall with the intent of grayshirting, or delaying his enrollment at CU until the 2010 spring semester, which commences in January.

Talking to one of the DLineman last week, he told me that Nate Bonsu is a beast and that Nuckols had a lot of work to do in weight room before he could compete in the big 12 or even college football. Hopefully he now knows what he has to do in the classroom and weightroom. I look forward to him coming in and getting a whole spring under his belt before he plays a down.

BTW, this is why it is important to be signing several defensive linemen every single recruiting cycle. I really hope we're looking at signing two DTs from the 2010 high school class in addition to Nuckols grayshirting.

MOTHER **** lEAVING FOR 2 WEEKS VACATION IN A COUPLE HOURS AND THIS IS A GREAT SEND OFF. Same old effing crap at CU.

These guys would have no problem getting in at any other big 12 school but oh no, not CU, WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS CRAP OVER AND OVER.

For those of you who think it's no big deal, we aren't texas or OU. CU must have EVERYBODY ready to go, we can't afford losing talent like this.

You people rag me for complaining about the DL all the time, come see me when we are getting pushed around up front .....

Tired of this effing BS year after year.!!!!!!!!!:sad2:

Just to be clear, these are clearinghouse issues (NCAA). These are not guys who were turned away by CU admissions.

Eff them too. You think they would be turned away at other big 12 schools? Why does CU have such a big problem with the ncaa clearing house year after effing year? This is AB EFFING SURD.

CU can't go into this season with kaynor and goree, lawson and pericak and expect to stop anyone up front period. Other than goree, the rest are 275 and smaller.

Cunningham? Bonsu? Am I missing something there??

Either way, this is NOT something this team needed.... :sad1:

Hurts potential QB depth as well...

Well Moten may end up being here this Fall. But it really does not hurt QB depth because I think he makes an inevitable switch to another position in short time. JMO.

Not great news, but Bonsu stepping up could soften the blow considerably. He has been on campus all summer and he has a college-ready body already.

Moten isn't as big an issue as DL. CU can't afford to be losing guys like nuckols and simon. From now on, Hawk and staff should not give looks to anyone on the fence.

That's good news but we know how this stuff turns out, nuckols will end up somewhere else along with simon.

Nuckols was a big risk all along. It is the reason he did not have a lot of offers. So yes, I think he would have trouble getting cleared at all the other Big 12 schools as well.

No idea on Nuckols, but I think Shaun Simon might be the guy most committed to being a Buffalo in the long run in the entire 2009 class.

I'm on Fat Tire # 10:smile2:

I'm goin a little over-board but i'm so sick of this crap. Any big time player we get ends up doing nothing here anymore.

Like I said, hawk and satff should pass on any kid who is a risk. We keep getting burned.

Epic syko meltdown, top shelf. Has no idea where to direct his anger so everyone gets some, well done.

Another thing, if he needs more clases to become eligible, why isn't anyone on Cu's staff on this and getting everything in order? They must have known...:sad2:

I won't disagree there. Having serious academic issues (especially with all the academic issues with current players) with 3 out of 19 signees is troublesome. But it sounds like Moten still has a decent chance of being here this Fall and Simon is 100% committed to enrolling in the Spring. We'll see on Nuckols.
