Versatile, talented and downright scary to defend, here is a look at Colorado's top backs.

Versatile, talented, game breakers all, here is a look at the top backs in Colorado going into the 2009 season.

1.Kenny Bell Fairview

2.Alex Ortega Erie
3.Mister Jones Littleton
4.Tucker Tharp Fairview
5.Quinton Lawson Fountain -Fort Carson
6.Tyler Vavrina Skyline
7.Davis Gunter Arapahoe
8.Steffen Bunting Greeley West
9.Jordan Marquez Arvada West
10.Lucas Lockett Bear Creek

Are the 2 guys ahead of Jones juniors or seniors also?

Both seniors.

Ortega plays at Erie. Looks like he's pretty small (one site says 5'10, 165, another says 5'9", 185).

Weird thing about Bell is that one article I saw said that Minnesota is his favorite, partly because it's the program he knows the most about. But he lives in Boulder???

Hmm, if he's truly the #1 RB in CO, CU needs to nab this guy. JIC other guys have problems getting into CU.

JV - Quick, rough profile in case you want to start a thread for him. You might want to clean it up since my browser doesn't let me rename my links...

That's strange. It won't let you kill the link with this
unlink.gif
then rename it with this
createlink.gif
?

I can kill it, but then when I hit the hyperlink button, it just asks me for another link. Never a place to enter a name. I used to be able to do it, but at some point it just started posting the link without asking for a name. Anyway, if you want to take this and clean it up, feel free. I was just kind of playing around with the profile thing...

This may sound like a stupid question, but are you making sure to highlight what you want to link?

If you highlight any word in this sentence and hit the createlink button
createlink.gif
it will make that word the link.

That was not nearly as stupid a question as you might think...

Never knew you could do that, I've always just copied the link into the
createlink.gif
"http" box. In the past it would come back and ask you for a description, now it just posts it directly. Didn't know you could make it turn a word in the post into a link.

Thank you sensei. For a dictatorial nazi, you're good people...

Keep it down. I don't need something like that getting out. :smile2:

Scout's article about Bell being the number one RB is misleading. They had a list for QBs earlier, and in that, they clearly stated that the rankings were based on their impact to the team - how valuable they are. It was not a recruiting evaluation, so Hinder was down around 7 or so. I think there thinking on the QB list most likely applies to the RB list - they are not saying that Ortega is a better player, just means more to his team than Jones.

I'm not even sure any of the schools which have offered Bell are looking at him as a RB.

Bell's got enough skills as an open field runner to be an excellent returner at the next level. I seriously doubt you'll see him lining up as a runningback, though.

Another mindless story on Scout I see. Ortega's 4.9 speed must really be dazzling people at the 2A level...

Dick Tharp's got another kid? Does Mike Bohn have any athletic kids in high school?
