the new Nike jobs are a big step down from anything we've had since the switch back to black By Mac....including the LED clock numerals we had one of Rick's years. the new road unis are OK, the geometry spasm on the pants is silly, though. won't even go into those shoulder pads dealies.

Whatever uniform they wear when they win.

I went with B/G. But having the option to mix it up is part attraction. The black out for the important night game is a great look. Black on Black against ISU...not so much.

Send the new Nike's back - what is that stuff on the side of the pants?
One of the few things I can applaud Nebraska for is switching back to their old traditional uniforms. The new uni thing is just a money making enterprise. LSU is adding the letters LSU to the front of their jerseys this year - the first change to their uniforms since the 1960's. With a fan base their size , it will make millions. I don't have anything against new uniforms, but ours look terrible.

Whatever appeals to kids these days I am for. But I would sure like for the pants to somewhat match the gold on the helmet.

Black Helmets? Did we try that in the weasel era?

Awesome, I had seen the black one once, but couldn't find it on this search.
What's the story behind the gold one with graphic buffalo?
That's totally new to me.

I think it was a prototype that was never adopted...? Leash?

I remember seeing that gold mentioned once before on this website, I seem to recall that it was by Montana. Regardless, I think it's ugly.

That's what I remember it from as well. I think you're right--that's total Montana material right there.

that's been a pet peeve of mine for a while. i also think that our shade of gold on the helmet has become increasingly less pale and bright over the years to a more metallic urine color.

i thought Barney's threads were about the best going in football...simple, clean, badass.....minus the pajama all-whites though i can understand not wanting to wear the black pant on the road, say, someplace southerly in September when it's 100+ degrees on the field. the black pant, white jersey and the gold helmet are a great look, IMO.

the "silver" addition to the new one's was a nice idea with the official colors and all, but the execution is pretty bland. the simple black, gold, white was more more visually striking. my original and still lingering question is: is THAT the best almighty Nike can do? because to me, they took a great uniform and made it "pretty good".

oh well, on any given Saturday our t-shirts are French's Mustard yellow. it sure would be nice to have the AD standardize and trademark an official color that's "gold" (like the exterior margins of this board) for licensed gear so we don't look like we're 50,000 peeps waiting to garnish a hot dog.

But this one has some definite possibilities. Sweet.

yeah, but that's silver....our numerals are sort of grey. they don't "pop" as they say in advertising/fashion/Entourage. kind of dull. those lids were actually pretty cool in person. surprised there aren't more pics (any) from that game.

I thought I heard Hawkins say at the Recruiting Luncheon in Feb that he might be introducing more silver into the uni's?

did anyone else hear that or is that my wishful thinking again?

Uggh. I hated that helmet. I think Slick whipped it out for the Baylor game. Right?

It's not so much the helmet that bugs me about that picture, but the jersey and the two color font.

A simple white font on black jersey or vice versa, and that look might work.

I loved the helmet, hated the jersey for that Baylor game.

I wouldn't mind seeing the buffs use that black helmet with the all balck unis for a blackout night and then using this helmet in a throwback game

I'd just like to see the black helmet with the traditional black jersey and gold pants uniform.

WTF?WTF?WTF?

Because that helmet says...???? Black squiggly line on silver?

I want Brian Cabral to wear that exact helmet - dents and no facemask - and one of his lei-leis onto Folsom Field for the Nebraska game.
