According to Big12 players...

If they hadn't screwed with our uniforms so much in the last 10 years, I'd say we have the baddest-ass unis in all of college football. now, not so much.

agree. now, not so much. i liked Barney's so i'd say since Year 2 of Hawk we've taken the jake in that regard.

ISU just can't seem to do anything right.

their current uni is a rip off of USC. it's one thing to take an NFL look (KSU, Iowa, KU did the NY Giants on and off for 20 years)....but to steal another college team is bush/pathetic.

Or Texas. Those are all solid unis in my opinion.

Oh Gawd no. UT's uniforms look like some 6-month old puked on them. Retch. And their road unis look like crap, too. Worst uniforms in the league, IMO. Terrible.

KSU IMO. It is very hard to make purple look appealing on a football uniform and they reinforce that problem.

Do I understand correctly that we disagree on this? I had troubles deciphering your post.

Boulder High pulls it off, IMO.

As does U-Dub.

Note the two look remarkably similar.

Good calls. I think the Vikings actually do a reasonable job as well.

KSU's uniforms are hideous. But somehow very fitting.

sometimes i think A&M's are really sweet, other times i don't. Baylor's green helmets were a colossal mistake that, for their sake, was good to rectify.

on the ISU subject, i bet Dan McCarney is looking pretty good to Clone fans right about now. in the early 80's ISU had a uni that featured players with two different colored helmets on the field at the same time. i saw em in person. one mustard helmet with a ketchup logo, and a ketchup helmet with a mustard logo. one of them designated seniors or something. it was REALLY stupid looking.

I would say Dan has managed to land on his feet in a pretty good gig. I'm sure he'll get a another opportunity at some point.

Tech's got that sweet Under Armor deal. When their big ass O-Linemen are clad in all black and the fans are following suit (both groups going with black face paint as well), it looks very intense. Still love the all-black Barnett unis, but at my age everything associated with the 2001 team was the golden era.

i think texas' all whites are sweet. ksu is disgusting, and while we share somewhat the same colors, mizzous jerseys are hideous.

two pretty good gigs at USF with Leavitt and now at UF. the thing about Big Dan at ISU was he had established a pretty good recruiting base for the "2's" in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (according to my uncle who coached HS football in Oklahoma and Texas for 25 years). Kansas and Missouri are now getting a lot of those same kids on their rosters.

Totally disagree on the T Tech unis. I'd give it to Oklahoma or A&M.

Being raised in an Aggie household, Pantone 202 was King ****. No questions asked. And burnt orange was, of course, baby puke. Aggie unis received very little modification in my lifespan and I think (along with OU) what makes them so sharp is that clean metallic paint job on the helmets. Teams with base black or white helmets... nah. Just doesn't do it for me.

How is it that KSU never shows up in the "worst mascot" conversation. They put a damn costume cat head on top of a skinny guy wearing the uniform and call it a mascot. What's up with that? I understand that a bunch of juco students couldn't be trusted to care for a live wildcat, but you'd think the AD budget was at least large enough to afford the entire mascot costume.

but, Willie shreds on the guitar....and we all know the one thing he would never forget.

I saw where Tim Griffin posted this poll as determined by "the football players" of the B12. This would turn out totally different if it was left up to the fans.

White helmets are totally unacceptable, and might be the worst uniform travesty outside of Eugene.

,

I think Oregon has about 4-5 different uniforms that borderline from one extreme to the other. I saw them play a couple of Pac 10 games last year, in one game their uni's were pretty cool, the next time I saw them on TV, it looked like someone had spilled fish guts all over them.
