Here is some info that has been shared on other sites.

None of this is confirmed obviously, but comes from typically reliable posters:

-Kasa weighed in at 270 lbs and is #44
-Scott weighed in at 215 lbs
-Andre Simmons is on campus

I'm interested to see an updated roster with updated weights (especially to see where Iltis and Givens are). Great to see Simmons is on campus. Wish this was a confirmation that he was definitely admitted and good to go, but from the sounds of Ringo's blog the other day we'll have to wait a little longer to find that out.

don't like the scott weight at all.... 205 is his playing weight.

This is a strange comment....as if you know what Scott's playing weight is. If he's in shape, which by all accounts he is, and has his quicks then what ever weight he's at probably works for him.

I am remembering an article done on him in the spring that talked about how he was TRYING to get back down to 200~205 because that was his playing weight in HS and he felt that was his optimum weight. His words.

If him and the coaches feel hes better at 215, sure... but too much weight can be bad.

wow. hope that doesn't effect his quickness. Thats a lot of extra muscle.... but damn, hes gonna hurt some fools today!

Yea, we'll see if he looks sluggish or just looks bigger in practice over the next week.

Definitely sounds good though if he put on that kind of good weight over the last month or so. He'll need the extra 10 pounds with his running style.

Adding a lot of weight too quickly is usually bad on the knees, since the ligaments don't strengthen up as fast as your anterior and posterior chain. However, I'm not too worried and in fact I'm glad he's at 215 rather than 205.

Given his running style this will suit him better as I have a feeling he's going to make it to the LBs more often. He'll crush the secondary when he makes it back there.

I wish Stewart has gained about 10lbs since last year as well. He was already a big guy, but given that he was at 175lbs being 185lbs or even 190lbs would be great (NFL RBs his size are 25-35lbs heavier than him).

If scott is in shape,215 is a good size. If he looks a step slow again then it is not. The roster has him listed at 225 lbs.I think that might be a typo. Scott said he wanted to be around 205.

Any word on Givens weight?

I like Kasa at 270. I had heard he was in the 265+ range, and still fast.

IF DS was 200 and 4% body fat (8lbs of fat), it would be great to start, but I don't kow if you can last a season at 4%. IF he is 215 and 6% (13lbs of fat) it will help his body have the extra energy it needs late in games & in the season. To me, his weight is just fine. I think the problem last year was that he was 225 and 10%+ fat (22.5+ lbs)

Very good and obi is up to 275 and bonsu, cunningham, goree, kaynor, shields have all put on 10lbs or so. Pericak up to 280.

Jimmy smith is 210? :wow:

Jimmy Smith is going to hit like a safety and cover like a DB. He may be the anchor of our defense by the way he plays, stepped in as a frosh I believe and had a pick 6 against NU and the only place he is going is up.

Goree at 305 is good news, so is Pericak at 280. The other one that stood out to me is Ryan Dannewitz at 295.

I like Kasa's weight a lot... damn these guys could sneak up on some people :smile2:

It was actually a fumble return...still, great play (actually great coaching) on that one.

Pericak at 280 is astounding to me. He must have really dug in at the training table and taken his vitamins. He couldn't have been more than 245 soaking wet in high school. The coaches must have thought (correctly) that his frame could take a lot more, thus the move to DT. If he can keep his speed at 280, he'll be a serious force. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do this year.

It seems that there were some reports (and chatter on this board) that while Pericak's hs weight was around 240/245, by the end of his senior year, he was already up to about 260. So the current "280" sounds pretty reasonable.

Perhaps by the end of his senior YEAR, not his senior SEASON. I saw the guy play a lot, and he was nowhere near 260. I'll certainly leave open the possibility that the CU strength & conditioning folks put him on a regimen to put some pounds on after his playing days at BHS were over.
