Pat Forde likes us

Pat probably likes Hawk. He seems to pull strongly for coaches who he considers to be the "good guys".

Anyway, I think that CU is about the 22nd best team in the country this year. Chance to get on a roll and be ranked a lot higher, chance to miss out on being ranked. But we'll be the best of the North, just like Pat has it.

I agree that if we are actually the 22nd best team in the nation (I'm not saying we are, I'll reserve speculation until we watch a couple of weeks of football), we have a great chance to be ranked much higher than 22, based on our SOS this season.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but power rankings speculate on a teams actual strength rather than where they'll finish.

Therefore, if Forde's prediction is accurate, and we beat the teams we're supposed to (again, based on Forde's speculation), then we'd be Big XII North Champions and heading to Dallas with only two losses on our record. Probably ranked in the top twelve (depending on what those losses looked like). I could live with that scenario.

Walrus,

My understanding is that Power Rankings are based on the answer to the following question: Neutral site game played this week, who is the better team?

Isn't Forde a homer? I thought he a Barney were pretty close. CSprings connection?

I believe Barnett coached Forde in high school..

Buffs at 22 is pretty high, but if they end up 5-3 in the Big 12 and 3-1 out of nonconference to finish 8-4 it doesn't sound so crazy..
