The Media Guide now includes 81 scholarship players on the roster, including Nuckols, Moten, Tau, Simmons and Clemons and counting the recent walk-ons who earned scholarships (Satterfield, Shanahan, etc).

I show 14 Seniors on 'Ship.

That leaves us 18 scholarships for 2010, before any defections. I believe we need to factor in a few of course - so I'm thinking we try to sign up to 25 (max) IF we get hot this year and start to get some pull. Potentially, this would mean an oversigning situation, but we have to expect some fallout of 4-5 between now and next fall.

In '08, we got ALL of our LOI's into CU. Of course, a few have dropped since then. I think we were pretty selective (understandably) as our stock was on the rise.

In '09, it looks like we'll have a few that won't get here. My gut is that we took some guys that we knew may not get in this last year as we were not going to fill up.

I hope we can get to the point where Hawk has a couple guys willing to Greyshirt in the end if they need to, like Vigo did. Vigo came in a lot bigger and ready to compete in the spring for a spot in the 2-deep.

Hawk doesn't generally like to over-sign. But I tend to agree with you on this one. Maybe not 25, but I'd go to 20. I say this partially because I believe that we're going to see Espy and Quick awarded scholarships at some point.

You're right on that! I meant to add them both in and got too caught up in my math. That would still leave us 18 and I think we got to go much closer to 25. Just this year we lost Katoa, Brace, Vaimounga, Lamont Smith, Hudgens, Wallace, Blackmon, J-Fly, Head, Ballenger, Celestine.... Simon and possibly other 2009's signees. I would think that's unusually high - but.....

I think we got to be thinking pretty close to a full 25 at this juncture.
