Forbes School Rankings

academics are only 13.5% of the criteria used for that list, we had a huge thread about it last week. Apparently we all should have gone to Wyoming.

Mabye that list was the basis for Pat Forde's CU power ranking?

Pretty comparable indeed. Difference being Texas' enrollment and ability to have every major under the sun. Of course, one should choose their college by what they want to study. CU has the advantage if you want to do aerospace engineering or earth sciences, while UT probably has a leg up on EE or filmmaking. Of course area of study should be a pretty big factor in choosing a school but obviously there are plenty others. And a prospective student's experiences are worlds apart from those of the people who published these rankings so the list itself should just be looked at as a basic guide to kick start someone into questioning and further researching just what it is that makes these schools so well regarded.

1. USC
2. UCLA
3. ASU

Thanks to Forrest West and Derrick Webb, CU's program appears to be on the rise however.

Anybody see those two in the Scout videos? They come across and very likable young men. Next to Polk's, I thought those two frosh. gave the best interviews.

Starts out cu - texas and ends up Nebraska. Who would have ever guessed?

Because we consider you our rivals.

Again, do I have to point out the irony of your presence here, on a CU site, explaining how we're obsessed with nebraska?

Actually if you don't want me to post on this site I won't. For what it's worth, I think cu is a rival.

It's certainly not up to me to determine who posts or not. As one of the two people on my ignore list (I opened your original out of curiosity, but it was originally blocked) I suspect you haven't impressed me with your desire to heighten the dialogue in the past.

Also, I was simply pointing out the irony.

Stop assuming he knows what that word means. It has more than 2 syllables...

Maybe this will help (sung to the tune of the Beatles "Let it Be"):

And though those things may suck and they are unfortunate I agree
That does not constitute irony.

Thanks for the mucical tutorial, Buffnik.

Just so we're clear: If a husker fans visits a CU website to insinuate that CU fans are obsessed with nebraska, it's ironic, right?

But if it rains on your wedding day, or if you develop a crush on somebody who's already married, or maybe you've just got the wrong eating utinsel to do the job, not really ironic?

Well at least I gave you boys some diealog. SnoBuff how many sillabulls is that? Actually Walrus what was my first post or original post that you put on your ignore list?

Quoting so Walrus sees the question if still on ignore.

PrairieFire, you seem like a decent guy for a Bugeater. I think there's hope for you if you decide to stick around to maybe turn away from the dark side. :wink2:

Hope? Not likely Pard. But Thanks anyway.:drink2:

Prairie Fire. I don't know. I went back and read your contributions to the board, and couldn't find what would have convinced me that your input was counterproductive to the dialogue.

You're only one of two people I've placed on ignore, and I assure you it's not something I do to silence opinions that are contrary to my own. I'm beginning to suspect that I had you confused with someone else. Anyway, you're off ignore--so I'm pretty sure that you're super-stoked about that.

If true, Alanis Morissette has lost all credibility....

Well, Walrus for you I'll be super-stoked. Quite a town hall meeting.:shakehands:

Here is how all of the B12 schools faired in the Forbes rankings.

School Rank
Texass 174
Colorado 187
Texass A&M 190
Texass Tech 292
Mizzou 374
OU 379
OSU 401
KU 425
NU 463
KSU 480
Baylor 483
ISU 587

Out of 600 schools, you could say we finished in the top third. My expectations would have been higher. However, CU was the only school from the north to finish in the upper third of the rankings. Not surprisingly the rest of the North schools finished in the lower half or near the bottom. Last June, CU finished 1st in the B12 North (second overall) with the highest GPA avaerage amoung student athletes.
Just food for thought.
