I'm curious as to what everyones thinks about B.G. Brooks interviews & articles on CU Buffs.com? Personally, I think it's one of the best upgrades they have done to the Football section of that web-site.

yes

:yeahthat:
I really enjoy reading them. They are concise and to the point. Have good info and don't waste my time.

I find myself going to the official CU site several times a day now to check for updates. I've got both the front page and Fall Camp page bookmarked. Excellent stuff and a great addition to the site.

Brooks is putting Ringo to shame these days, the Camera has sucked lately.

My only complaint with the CU page is that damn Alberta, Canada popup on every damn page - I'm sick of that thing.

Dude. the Camera has always sucked a$$ inside out.

I think it says alot that we have a real reporter writing real features, with a free hand to tell the truth, on our official web site.

So, you don't like Woelk?

The only thing about the B.G. Brooks stuff is that they are kind of hard to find. They should have a direct link from the home page, like the "Platitudes" link.

Also, since the site is, it seems, part of the program, do you think that maybe he is a little "controlled" in what he writes?

A good way find out if it's controlled or not would be to e-mail him with any questions you have about the program. I think he has his e-mail address listed somewhere in his column. Although there is no gaurentee he will respond. Then again, maybe we can get him to come on this site to answer some of our questions?

Don't know if its archived but when Brooks took the job he wrote a piece that in part addressed that issue. Paraphrasing here, but one of his conditions was that he be allowed to write it as he sees it. I can't imagine he's got 100% freedom, but he's writing for the U now, not a newsrag, so he's hardly likely to produce any exposes.

Let's say he has less freedom than Bob Woodward, but more than Ben Burney.

Woelk is okay, but thats just one column, and the paper as a whole has always blown. Its even worse now that its basically the reprint of either Denver Post or Colorado Daily stuff, with terrible production standards. And Ringo is just terrible.

As an aside, you think that any of the morons running the camera realize that taking one blurb a week and stringing them together isn't really a "blog?'

Camera hasn't been the same since Dan Creedon(CU alum) retired, he was one of the best and knew how to teach cub reporters how to write. I believe Woelk is his last protege at BDC.

BG Brooks does an excellent job as an "old time reporter: just gives you the 5 "w"s and doesn't patronize either his subjects or his readers.

Great pick-up by Bohn.
