Beginning his ascent
BOULDER — Of all the mountains in Colorado, the one that made the biggest impact on quarterback Clark Evans might have been that big hill that goes from the practice fields to the Dal Ward Center.

We don't have to worry about Cody and Tyler "sucking up"

Right recipe for Buffaloes
BOULDER — Guys like Nate Solder don’t come around very often. In Denver Johnson’s eyes, they come along perhaps only once. “He’s really the most God-gifted guy I’ve ever coached — just really gifted with ability,” said the new Colorado offensive line coach — who has 12 years of college coaching experience — about Solder.

Solder = The Real Superman

Oh, snap! Drescher has been one Buffs count on
OULDER — Sometime during Justin Drescher’s later years of high school, he came to the saddening realization that
There’s just not much of a market for 230-pound offensive lineman in the college ranks. But Drescher found a secret passageway into Division I football: Become a long snapper.his football career would likely end there
Story about a snapper.... yup.

CU’s Bonsu leans on upperclassmen
BOULDER — Big Nate Bonsu is all smiles these days.
The true freshman defensive tackle from Allen, Texas, maintained long before arriving in Colorado that the chance to play right now was appealing, and very possible. It’s looking like it’ll happen.

Also tidbits on west and Jameson is out for possibly season... no surgery for Kasa?

I'm gonna be an asshole here and suggest the coaches stop with the niceness around the kickers. Make them actually deliver. Davis had microfracture surgery and the coaches are legitimately expecting him to make an impact at kicker this year (let alone ever)?

If Jameson is out for the season, I would bet his football days are done. What is he, like 37 years old with 3 wives and 12 kids?

"Because CU has so many defensive backs on special teams, Hawkins said Major may not have a big role there."

...

Kinda feel like Major would do more damage on the kickoff team then Sandersfield and Jonathan Hawkins..

It's best just to trust the coaching staff on this. They have earned the benefit of the doubt with outstanding special teams play to date.

I thought the funny comment was that Goodman was filling in for him.

Bot doesn't get out to the Provinces, much.

seriously, Longmont is all right and the Ridgell does a very nice job covering CU.

True. I said it on another board last week, but we have four kickers on scholarship and we're really not sure if any of them are that good. Yikes.

Drescher is a product of Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas (as was our buddy Chase Daniel). These boys start training for the next level at the age of 5...no joke. Southlake has a mechanism in place..all of these rich white kids start playing football at an early age (like Justin said, it is all about the reps), and they learn the "system."

Maybe it is like Boise State...not necessarily about having the best athletes, but playing together as a team in the same system for years.

Thanx, Snow. I like some of the Times writers and the stories were a great diversion from a lot of the other chatter going on right now.
