Simmons Practice Schedule

I think I read that he's got to do 3 practices without pads and then he can go full contact (may have been a step 2 in there).

Does anyone know the NCAA rule on this and whether tonight's 1-hour walkthrough counts as a practice? What I'm getting at is I'm wondering whether he'll be able to play in Saturday's quasi scrimmage.

Another brilliant rule by the ncaa :wow:

Word is that he'll play in the scrimmage...

Oh, wait, no he wont...

Nope, OK, yes he will. Oh damn, no he won't.

We'll see.

 I heard Ringo said Simmons mom told him he would definitley play, as long as Independence CC sent his cleats, which of course need to be verified by the bursar, or is the registrar? After that, the cleats will have to pass the smell test of the NCAA clearinghouse, but the results are now protected by the FUCCUP (Federal Undergraduate Cleat Cleaning Utility Procedure) Act of 2007, which forbids the disclosure of the student-athletes smell tests. When and if that clearance is granted, the AD will have to sit on it for a while, and have B.G. Brooks formally publish the results. But I'm sure he'll be at the scrimmage.:smile2:

I think I read Hawkins isn't going to announce if Simmons played in the scrimmage until kickoff of the CSU game. Likes to keep things close to the vest.
