In the spirit of the Ethan Adkins thread:

I don't want this to turn into a who's right or who's wrong regarding the assault charges.

Instead, I'd rather focus on what happened after the legal trouble.

Sipili was all set to play two seasons ago, believing that he'd paid for his transgressions when suddenly the rug was pulled out from under him and he was suspended from school for the semester.

Imagine, one moment you think you're a student athlete, and the next you're not even allowed on campus and don't even have a place to stay, or really, anything to eat.

It would have been easy for him to quit. I'm sure he experienced some very dark moments during that semester away, and no doubt the thought crossed his mind.

Last season he played injured.

But if you saw his interview on Scout a few weeks ago, you would have seen a slimmer, happier Michael Sipili.

I'm hoping that this young man has a big, Big, BIG season! I'd like to see a few opposing running backs get Sipilized this year.

Nice job Sipili. Go Buffs!

He did look slimmer at the couple practices I saw. I hope Burton has a big season at MLB this season and Sipili steps in with little trouble next season.

Sipili would be starting for every other program in the Big 12 North this season (as would Rippy or Mohler). Our 2-deep is sick. I'm really looking for some big things from him this year.

I'd love to see him do the football equivelent of what he did to that kid.
