From a Tweet a few hours ago:

"Hanging with Jeff Bzdelik and the boys this morning getting to know more of the new guys. This is starting to look more like a Big 12 team."

He also did a really good premium video interview on Scout with freshman PG Shannon Sharpe (42+ inch vertical and great defender). Link

Confirming Ringo, word is leaking in from other sources that the Buffs have really taken to their offseason conditioning and that having a strength coach is paying dividends.

Sorry. But this guy should not be both a newspaper writer and a hawker for scout. It's freaking lame.

I do wonder sometimes how he decides something is premium content at Scout versus standard content for his day job at the BDC. I assume he worked this out with the Camera before he took the Scout gig.

Why would the Camera be ok with him witholding a scoop only to provide it to another source? I'm sure you are right that it was cleared, but it seems crazy to me.

Exactly. His job as a news reporter is to report news, not withhold it. It seems pretty ridiculous to me. And you can bet your ass that if I was The Hawk, I'd be short with him too.

Good to hear. Will still be a young team, but more experienced, and depth should be solid compared to last season at least.

Been hearing good things about Relphorde. Sounds like he might be the althletic/nasty post prescence we didn't have last season. Let's hope Dufault can follow suit.

Glad to hear they're getting bigger and stronger. When I watched them last year against Missouri it looked like men against high schoolers. Missouri players were strong and tough. I hope things are moving that direction for the Buffs with the new S&C coach.

Really looking forward to seeing Replhorde and Sharpe play. I think this season's going to be a lot better than last year. I really do.

Mizzou is a solid team. But you're correct, we were totally outclassed on the court last year. Hopefully we can be more competitive this year.

I am so tempted --- but I won't --- to post some of his player criticism here that he posts on premium scout. He can be directly insulting in a thread, and then puff the same player in a profile. Weird.

It would never fly in the Camera. So, is the guy so swift he thinks no players, no families, no coaches, etc. read his stuff on Scout? Oh, wait. He could be right. It averages about a post a day on a good day.

MU will be interesting to watch. Carroll was about as perfect a "Mike Anderson Player" as you could find. big, long, runs the court, can play a lot of positions and score the ball from a lot of places on the floor. like their football team, they lose a lot.

i'm still mad about the game (hoops) against MU we blew the big lead at the CEC two years ago.

agree on both counts. this summer, there was a sign up reserving the Rec Center courts for the team in evenings a few nights a week. i always meant to go and walk a few laps on the elevated track to see what was going on and check out Relphorde and Sharpe....but, never actually did it.

Way to drop the ball Mick. :smile2:

Interested to see if Crawford can be effective on the post this year. We all know he can shoot. Would be huge to have Dufault, Crawford, and Relphorde playing tough down low, then step outside every now and then to stretch the defense.

Mizzou WAS a solid team, they lost what? 4 Sr. starters? It was men against boys, we had an extremely young team with benefit of only one pre-season go-round on S&C.

Now with a new B-ball specific S&C coach, they'll be stronger and more mature.

Relphorde should be a great pick-up and I expect HUGE things from Eckloff. He did well in spurts as the youngest Fr player in the country---he shoulda been a HS Sr last year, but he advanced a grade in ele. school cuz he's so smart! Plus, Knutson comes back to play with two actual, operating hips---a first for him!
