VT @ Bama

Yea it's a new thing where an ACC and SEC team will meeting in Atlanta every year to start the season. Last year Bama punked Clemson if you recall. Next year's game it's LSU and the tar holes.

This should be a good one and will have the atmosphere of a BCS game!

My first thought was why are we giving them sponsors on game one. Then I thought maybe this is a good thing so we can get rid of these top 20 teams vs schools I have never heard of.

So I conditionally take back my original wtf?

VT's defense should give the corncobs some fits, but their offense don't look like world beaters either. Who knows, maybe they are better in Blacksburg.

These late-hite penalties where a guy steps out of bounds at the last second and then gets nailed are total BS.

yea that is what is impressive about that kid how he can still run that hard in the 4th q. even in a hard hitting game like this.....Bama might be the real deal this yr

Looks like the ACC got put in their place for the year. Now for the icing on the cake with FSU and Miami's holiday brawl.

Assuming that Maryland doesn't pull off a miracle comeback against Cal, it's pretty much been a complete disaster for the ACC this weekend. Their only OOC wins came against Middle Tennessee State, The Citadel, Northeastern, and Jacksonville State. Seriously, I'm not making this up.

Among their losses:
- An NC State team that many considered a darkhorse ACC contender losing to South Carolina, considered by most to be a lower division SEC team.
- A mid-tier Wake team losing to Baylor, probably the 3rd or 4th worst team in the Big 12.
- Arguably their best team, VT, losing to a Bama team that may only be the 3rd or 4th best team in the SEC.
- Losses to Richmond and William & Mary
