-Scott is not, nor will he ever be, an elite back. Stewart is the only one with true speed in your backfield and needs to be carrying the ball all the time.
-The Oline is big, but not very good. Maybe they will gel with time, but the running game you should've been able to rely on is not there.
-There really are no elite receivers or anyone to get them the ball. Hawkins should've been pulled after the 3rd series and at least given your backup a chance to do something with his legs.
-The D line is pitiful. Other than the goaline stand, they were pushed back 3 yards off the LOS every play.
-The LBers are okay, but nothing to write home about.
-The secondary is worse than I thought they'd be. Chapelle Brown, who's supposed to be your best DB, was getting torched all night.
-Goodman has made massive improvements and is gonna be reliable all season.
-This is gonna be a long season for CU. It wouldn't surprise me to see you lose to Toledo, WV, and then the rest of the Big XII schedule save KSU and ISU. Hawk simply hasn't recruited at all the past few seasons and it is killing you. I had honestly hoped that CU would return to be competitive which is good for the entire north, but it's not this season.

Scott doesn't seem to run very hard from what I've seen.. Even the kick off returns, it just doesn't seem like he's putting on that extra gear elite backs have.. ..

He doesn't get much of a chance though..

Agree that Speedy is our best runner but he was hardly in there again.

Simply put, these kids are clearly not being coached well. I'm not sure what I can make of any of the individuals, but coaching is the issue, not the skill of the kids...

Here's a perspective: nebraska will never come close to being an elite program again.

Colorado can, under better leadership.

Hawkins left the playing field in the first half with all 3 of his timeouts. If he would have used them, he would have had about 50 seconds to score.
Terrible clock management - stupid, spaced out.

Okay................

Now I'll talk to the rest of you that actually have a brain. It sounds like you have some serious issues with your coaching staff. You've had some decent recruits come to CU over the past few years so talent shouldn't be an issue. I'm hearing the same things from you guys that I heard from our fanbase with Callahan and company. It sounds like the coaching just isn't there and the talent isn't being utilized and developed properly. Every team has some first game issues, but from looking at the stats CSU ran on your defense fairly easily and I've never been impressed with Cody as your QB.

yes this team has the talent to play at this level, just the coach does not. I cant stand the fact that he keeps his son in there to play. When you put on that coaches hat, that is what you are the coach

Hansen better be the Starter next week.

What does that change? The OL can't block and the WR can't catch..

Little Hawk had little to do with why we lost tonight..

but the little plays a big part, he forces to much, does not see the field well, focuses on one WR (McKnight) all the time and does not run when the field is wide open for him to take off.

Maybe he doesn't have anything to do with why you lost tonight, but from what I watched last season the kid just doesn't have the skill to be your starting QB. Whoever was/is your back-up that has the wheels should be your starter. He brings a different element to your offense that Cody can't and at least if your QB has to run for his life he should have the ability to do this.

Absolutely agree. Dropped balls, no blocking, a very poor game plan, an unprepared team in general all had a lot more to do with the loss than just putting it on little hawk.

If Hansen was so great I would think he would be able to beat out Little Hawk..

Although I guess I should take into account that our coaching staff is filled with a bunch of morons that they wouldn't be able to tell if he is or not.. :sad2:

I'm neutral about the QB situation.. I think starting either one doesn't really change how good we will be..

Dan Hawkins said in his postgame that Cody will start against Toledo.

It has to do with the fact that your dad is the Head Coach, little hawk can play, just not at this level

How the hell can you tell anything about Darrell Scott based on tonight's game? He got 1, that's 1, hear me 1 mother****ing carry!

Agreed. Sadly I would not be surprised if he followed his uncle out of this state. It sucks to think that. But you can't waste talent like that. Even if it is only "potential" at this point. At least give the kid a chance to see what he's got.

That right there makes no ****ing sense at all to me. He was supposed to be THE guy when he came to CU. Everyone talked about how great he was going to be................Coach Hawkins: "I think we give Scott one carry and break him in slow." WTF!?

In the meantime, the other f'ing team's fans are rushing the field and dancing on your logo. Christ.

What a joke...return the kicks, then off the field. Must be more to his story....
