Hawks Post Game Comments

blah blah blah......13 - 25 record, 2 loses to CSU (1 at home) lost to Montana State (at home) and only 9 wins at home.....he is way over his head here

Sorry, coach, but it didn't come down to "really little things." Our team was physically manhandled for an entire 60 minutes.

Hawk is a real moron if he thinks a few bang-bang plays is why we lost the game.. We got frickin dominated and we were lucky to lose only by 6..

Hawk said he never thought of pulling Little Hawk...

How long have we heard this crap? Just came down to a few little things.....

big surprise there, why put in a talented QB, why run DS only once

Kind of amusing to hear Hawk talk about rhythm when we are constantly subbing RB's back in and out every play..

hey dan you got your ass kicked by a crappy mwc team at home show some heart d-bag!!!! he acts like he just lost to UT in a close game..... this guy is LOST!!

Hawk's time is running short...get simas back, get simmons in the groove, get Speedy healthy, get Darell in the friggin game plan....his only shot at redemption.

The guy is in denial. Did he think Cody was doing well or something?

What in the world could he possibly think the problem is if it isn't Cody?

I really want to back this guy, but his decisions are just stupid and arrogant. They used to be questionable, but we are waaaay passed that stage now.

that was like last yr when we lost to Mizzu 58 - 0, he was walking off the field with a big smile on his face liked we played a close game, but the big plays got us. he has no clue at this level

I could only stand listening to about 30 seconds of it.

If I was interviewing Hawk, I would have asked 10 questions:

1. Why did the team come out completely flat tonight?
2. Why isn't the defensive line capable of shedding a block or getting a push/penetration?
3. Why doesn't the offense have an identity?
4. Why does Darrell Scott only get 1 carry?
5. Why doesn't B-Lock play after busting the touchdown?
6. Why do we substitute 3 guys and burn the entire play clock on every offensive down even when we're behind by 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter and hurting for time?
7. Why did you go for it on 4th down from your own side of the field when the team had momentum, the defense was playing well, there was plenty of time left, and field position had turned to our advantage?
8. As a follow up to #7, why did you choose to run a sweep with your slowest running back on that 4th down try?
9. Why didn't you ever try to insert Hansen or run a 2-minute drill to light a fire under a stagnant offense?
10. Why was Burney on the sideline in the 2nd half when in the 1st half he came up with a pick on a deep ball but Chap and Jalil got burnt when CSU threw deep on them?

Well said...rep....

does it matter, long term contract and he knows CU cant buy him out......all we can do is wait for little hawk to move on

These are the ones that are really killing me right now. His answer to 4 and 5 was because Sumler has been here longer and doesn't get rattled or some bull**** like that. I'm sorry, but if you can't get a back as talented as Scott ready to play all three downs for the entire game, that's on the coaches. As to number 6, on a more general level, why does our QB need to come over to the sideline after every play to get the ****ing play? He's not even in the huddle until 8-10 seconds have run off the play clock.

Hell, we should make you HC. Hawk probably didn't think any of those things up there were problems.

More important to me than anything he said was his demeanor. I am totally demoralized by his "Yeah. Shucks, this loss was sort of a bummer. Sorry" attitude. At least if he came out and was mad as h*ll at how the game turned out I would have hope for some changes in our attitude on the field Friday. Instead, I got the feeling that he thought everything on his end was A+ OK and we just caught some bad breaks. Scary.

The problem is not Cody (he's better than RNs QBs were) so much as:
  • Cody has only two people to catch to ball.
  • The OL is better then last year but still lets guys in his face.
  • That apparently were not going to try a running game unless its to the outside.
  • That passing horizontally is better than going on the vertical down field.

Did I miss anything?

And it's sad that we, the supposed emotionally overblown fan message board blow hards, are trying to talk this kind of sense into the coaches, the FSN BROADCAST TEAM is trying to talk sense into these coaches, and they think they know better than us... and here's the result.

Now I know why there was so much secrecy in fall practice. If anyone found out how badly this was going to turn out, they'd have the game yanked off national TV and multiple decommits before classes started.
