Darrel Scott: 1 carry, 1 yard.
Team Rushing Avg: 1.4
Sumler had the most carries at 8 carries for 20 yards.... and Speedy had 6 carries for 38 yards.... WHY DID SUMLER KEEP GETTING THE BALL?
Team Rushing total yards: 19
Team rushing attmempts... vs Pass Att: 21 v 40
3d down efficiency: 3-14....

:bang:

According to Hawk, Sumler is the most "experienced" runner and knows the "ins and outs" of the RB position.

Here's one

Cody Hawkins: 24 for 40

We will rarely win if Cody has to toss the ball that many times

Like valdezj stated this week " I'll believe it when I see it"....

This staff makes no sense and have lost any credibility with the fans.

Rushing scott 1 time ? No excuse and that's on hagan too.

In one night they have killed any hope for a winning season.

I thought I heard that Stewart tweaked his hamstring again - and that is why he didn't return to the game.

Scott was averaging 25 yards per kickoff return, too. The fact that he only touched the ball TWICE on offense was pretty pathetic.

AAArrrghhhhh!!! This f-in sucks! Expect more of the same ladies and gentlemen. This bastard is an arrogant wannabe that doesnt care about CU tradition, he freaking ended our scoring streak, and only cares about pleasing his no talent son. Has no idea how to run a decent program or play smashmouth football. Everything he syas is total BS!! That's why he;s short w/ the media now, no one is buying his crap anymore.

What a schithead!!

I figured Sumler was in to help pass protect but then they kept handing him the ****ing ball. :bang:

Scott will transfer out if he isn't even given the opportunity to carry the ball.

wont be surprised to see him transfer..

im sure he envisioned himself getting a lot more carries, and being a program changing back... not a backup

He wasn't the backup. He was running fourth ****ing string. Why? I have absolutely no ****ing idea.

My only hope on the Scott thing is that it was some sort of minor screwup that forced the coaches to throw him down the depth chart for 1 week...

If it continues... ****.

And keeping the most talented players on the bench certainly seems to be the best plan for changing that... I guess the good news is that with Scott getting 2 touches per game he should be "experienced" enough to get playing time when we really need a breakaway threat sometime before he is 50 years old....

This staff is d*** frustrating. I'm still grinding my teeth over those 4th down calls...eeerrr, and the general lack of preparedness for a big game.

It sure is great that Sumler can pick up the blitz, unfortunately he can't run the ball. How about putting Sumler at FB.

i always envisioned sumler in the fb role...he has the body for that position. he needs to be busting open the middle in front of speedy and ds...

...this is my first post since watching that debacle last night.

i think i am still in shock.

It all starts with the horses up front and the offensive philosophy. For all the talk about how improved the offensive line was - they got whipped last night by CSU!! I didn't see any road graders out there. I didn't see any offensive linemen whipping their man, pushing them down field, etc.

How about putting BOTH Stewart AND Scott into the game at the same time? Didn't the coaches pledge to do that during the offseason? Talk about giving the opposing team something to think about.. Stewart is a slasher, Scott is a basher. Both of them on the field at the same time and teams have to wonder what kind of punishment they are going to get.

How about playing THE SAME 11 PLAYERS for more than just ONE play!! Do we not have WR's who can stay on the field for 5-8 plays in a row? Do we not have RB's / TE's who can stay on the field for half a dozen plays in a row?? Why do we have to substitute in and out 3 or 4 players EVERY SINGLE SNAP!?!

I remember when we played TWO RB's for an ENTIRE GAME and they touched the ball about 25 times EACH. I remember when we played about FOUR WR's for an entire game and they ran up and down the field the entire game. Has this team become so soft that players can't stay on the field for an entire offensive series?

:yeahthat: This is the kind of **** I was talking about a while back with this post.

That said, in the past under Hawkins/Helfrich CUs offensive staff has shown the attention span of a tweaked out crackhead at a laser light show. At some point they've always given in to the temptation to drag out every bit of **** from the bottom of the playbook. I really believe that was the Helfrich influence at work and that Kiesau will make a big difference in that department. But if that isn't the case, my expectations for the season definitely get lower.

Nothing I saw last night changed my opinion at all, except for the part in blue... It's pretty clear now that this is all Hawkins and it isn't going to change. He simply doesn't get that winning at this level is about the best players being in a position to make plays, not about being more clever or cuter than the other guys...

Interesting thought, and it makes alot of sense. And that's not a good thing. :sad1:

I have one reason to feel proud today: I was anti-Sumler from Jump Street :smile2:

I can't imagine what they see in him, he's slower, less quick, not as powerful as any of the three others. It should be Scott and Speedy, and that's it.

Or, and I know this is just crazy talk, why don't we trying using our actual fullback, Jake Behrens (sp?), a two or three year starter who supposedly looks great in practice?
