Is on the radio right now telling Scott to transfer because this staff is costing him millions of dollars at the next level....

Ouch. I can't believe he's being that negative about the program publicly. He must want to see some change too.

That had better be the biggest wake up call to Dan Hackins who is squandering Scott's collegiate career. I'd pick Scott to stay on the team over Hackins any day of the week.

Scott's haircut is better too!

The radio guys are really piling on. :sad2:

As they should be. Hawk has been laying turds here since 2006. This is his 4th year and there are no reasons for him to still be losing.

Honestly and objectively, there are reasons for him to be losing. But there sure as hell aren't reasons for him to be losing to the likes of CSU.

Losing to OU/UT/OSU, yes. I agree there are still reasons to lose those games. Losing to CSU? No way. No how. No excuses.

Not just that we lost is why I'm so down right now, it's the effort. The team looked like they didn't even want to be on the field Sunday night. They looked flat. No excuse at all for that crap after what we've been hearing about in the offseason, NO EXCUSE!

Everyone shut the **** up. Cody says we don't understand the schematics.

"We`re definitely well on our way, and if people don`t know that, then they don`t understand the whole schematics of building a program or the whole structure and makeup of a team," Cody Hawkins said. "We`re there. We`re very close. We`re hands down better than we`ve been since I`ve been here. A lot of that is going to kind of hinge on how I play."

If I were a Buff's fan, seeing those pictures of Sanchez walking around the CU sideline smiling and chatting it up with players during the game would infuriate me. Especially, given the fact that CU was down big and Sanchez's "best friend" had already been lit up once on the field. To me it was a telling image in the way the two staffs approached that game and it showed on the field.

I see Cody has learned daddy's "if you haven't coached, stfu" bit.....

Well since Cody is the expert on the schematics of building a winning program maybe he can answer this question. How does a Mtn West team rebuild in one year and the Big 12 Buffs Need at least 4 years?

I hate to lose but it drives me nuts to think that we got out coached, out played and out classed by a non bcs school.

couldn't agree more.

Why is it out of line? He is looking out for the players best interest, not the programs.

Although if he was truly worried about Scott 's financial future he would have told him to go to Texas in the first place.

I don't blame Cody 1 bit for his comments. If the amount of local over reaction to this game resembles what has been thrown around on the board the last few days, then I would have to agree.

Of all the cities I ever lived in Denver was by far the worse for finding a percentage of the fan base that had no real concept of sports in general.

Hawkins took over a program that was at rock bottom. ROCK FING BOTTOM! people. He is clearly struggling with is on field performance right now and he has to get it corrected.

But do NOT DISCREDIT what he has done for CU football the last 3 years. The class of players he has brought into this program is a huge step in the right direction. He has run a clean program, which is something we have NOT had around here in a very very very long time. He has improved our depth and talent on this team this team has taken strides every year.

The game on Sunday was a huge disappointment. I get it. I am as unhappy about is as anyone. But lets just see what happens over the next few weeks before start telling players they should transfer and calling people a-holes of a father (I know another thread). Hawkins is a class act and he deserves a chance to continue on what he has started here.

The reaction I am reading about fire him, he can't coach, blah, blah, blah, is all rather disgusting. We are all fans of this team and we all want to see this team succeed. We all feel like crap when we lose to a team we feel like we should beat. It haunts all of us for days after the game. But step back for a minute people and quite focusing on the negative. Hawk has done some very good things for our program, now lets give him time to make the next step. He deserves more than 1 game into a season.

How do you know? honest question.

Starting Scott but giving him ONE carry? If he doesn't get the playbook, why start him? If he's injured, why have him return kicks? Something is up. If Hawk weren't such a tweak and answer media questions with one word, maybe this wouldn't be such a mystery - Hawk says Scott didn't get the ball because he "was a little banged up" but then Hagan said Scott didn't get the ball because we were down 20-3. There are contradicitons all over, and with Hawk closing practices and being skimpy with his answers, we are left to guess, speculate and wonder why our most talented skill player barely touched the ball.

IMO, Scott has not touched the ball enough in game situaitons to warrant him getting ONE carry.

I agree with you for the most part but sometimes you just need to vent. I am not at the fire Hawk point yet but we need to start seeing some results on the field.

Al's been pissed since Barnett was fired. He could never understand why. He couldn't wait to say "I told you so".

Agreed. This is a great place to vent, and we all need that outlet. But alot of am reading seems to be beyond venting. Maybe I am just reading it the wrong way.

Like I said I was as disappointed and upset about this game as anyone. I don't understand how we could lose this game the way we did. It was NOT good football at all. But I think the venting is starting to go beyond that. I am also questioning if Hawkins really has what it takes to finish the job he has started. He deserves to be questioned after the game. But the venting has turned to hatred in many cases, or at least it is coming across that way. If Hawkins can't finish what he started, so be it, but the man deserves better. He has done some really good things for our program at a time when it was much needed. We should all not be so quick to just throw that away.

Sorry, the state of the program Hawkins inherited 4 years ago is not an excuse to lose to CSU on Sunday. CSU started from scratch this year with all new players at skill positions and very little talent anywhere on the field. Their coach has 1 year of experience under his belt, not 3.

Hawkins has done nothing to make this team better. We don't appear to have a D1 caliber QB on the roster. We have an extremely limited WR corps. Our offensive line is getting pushed around by CSU. We have a bunch of true freshmen on the DL because he didn't recruit anyone in the previous years.

Hawkins has all his own players in here and there is 0 excuse for his pathetic performances other than his own ineptitude.

Guess what? When you make 7 figures and are ****ing horrible at your job, you are subject to criticism. How terrible, though, for the big bad students and alums to beat up on poor Hawkins. Give me a break and get a clue.

This guy is ruining the football program.

I guess some people still don't get it: Hawkins CAN'T coach. He doesn't know how to use the talent on his team even when the obvious answers are staring him in the face.

This team has not taken strides every year. It has taken a step back for every step it has taken forward.

He has had time to take the next step. He hasn't. He won't

He is a failure of a football coach and there are no excuses any more. If he hasn't gotten the talent in here to be able to beat COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY with a new rb, QB, receivers, and 2nd year coach, that is his own damn fault. What it really comes down to, though, is that CU is vastly more talented than the CSU team that we just lost to, and the only reason we lost to them is because this fool is in completely over his ehad and has no idea what the hell he is doing.

If you can't see that now you never will.

Not sure if I agree with everything that is being said right now, but hats off to both of them for their passion. I think Alfred is right, I don't think Bohn understands the ramifications of his decisions and his words. He needs to turn up the heat.

Al's been pissed since Barnett was fired. He could never understand why. He couldn't wait to say "I told you so".
He has never liked Hawkins, for sure. Maybe he was right and I was wrong. I dunno. As for now, I'm going to hold off judgment until after the WV game.

Couldn't disagree more. You are projecting a vocal minority on all the fans, and this outrage happens with every team. Look at Michigan or FSU right now, or go back and look at the articles in Nebraska or Notre Dame in recent years. Our average fan lives life not Obsessed with CU football, they enjoy their team and prefer a winning program. They do not live and die on the teams wins and losses. If your judgment is based solely on fanaticism, then you are right, we are not the children of the Corn.

If you want to call Denver’s media and coverage the worst in the nation, I can’t argue there.

You are kidding yourself.

First of Senior captain Riar Geer - Was the top WR for the team last year.
Rashaun Greer, 6-1, 203 Senior, North Las Vegas, Nev.
Rashaun made some all-conference lists after bursting on the scene last year, a junior season preceded by some unspectacular play the previous two years. His 63 catches for 1,114 yards was CSU's first 1,000-receiving season since David Anderson did it in 2005. His 17.7 yards per catch put him in the top 10 nationally.

CSU is not some hack regional school. They were a bowl team last year who returned the majority of their o-line and there top WR from last year.

So just where is it that you think we have vastly more talent then them?

I like Cody Hawkins but we all know he is the "gifted" QB on the field. O-line has how many upperclass man starting + and new O-line coach this year.

I love Fright McKnight, but outside of him, how many starting WR are returning for us this year.

How many seniors are starting for us in the front 7 on D. I agree he have more potential talent than CSU, but that was clearly negated by the experience on the both lines for CSU.

And yes, we should have beat them, and yes the team performed badly, and yes Hawkins needs to fix it.
