How can we fire Hawkins?

I know this is what everybody wants (including me) but the fact remains that we don't have any money and Hawkins has a contract.

We could not even get $1 Million to build an indoor practice facility.

The Athletic Dept. is spending a boat load of money on the basketball facilities, girls soccer and Folsom improvements.

The University would be just fine if the public didn't know we played football and were just know for having NASA ties and Ward Churchill.

So how do we get rid of him?

I highly doubt we will be able to. And even if we are, we'll have very little money left to get a good coach in here:huh:

Can we "demote" him without triggering the buy-out?

He can be the new "backup QB" coach and spend lots of quality time with Cody...

...on the sidelines.

The players could do it... They have obviously quit on him. All they have to do is get together and talk to Bohn as a team... Well, probably minus Cody.

Unless a big donor steps forward we have few choices. Deal with Hawk or Fire him and replace him with somebody already on the staff and hire a new assistant. The budget will not allow for the Hawk buyout and a new outside coach at a normal HC salary.

Ready to send in a small check of my own.

Seriously I'm ready to give a significant amount of my $$$ towards this. Another site has an interesting idea about setting up a donation website. If 10,000 fans donate $300... there's 3 million right there

There aren't even 5000 Buff Club members. That is the problem, we have piss poor financial support.

I will donate all of the money in my wallet... uhhh, looks like... $52.26.

Is that gonna be enough?

You keep change in your wallet???

If you figure 30,000 people probably attend games pretty regularly (not counting people who only attend a game every now and then), $100 a piece would put together a pretty good fund.

Of course, getting the students to cough up that much might be a problem....

How dare the government complain about CEO salaries in failing companies when the highest paid Colorado state employee making over $1 million a year (with a golden parachute valued at almost $3 million) is completely failing in his job?

Department is forced to carry women's sports, although they lose money like crazy. Big mistake was giving him a contract extension. I completely didn't understand it at the time, but most supported it, saying it would lead to stability in the football program? Hugh? I'm afraid he's here, at the least until 2010.

I guess we will be "stabilized" at the BOTTOM of the standings every year.

If there was any justice it would be based on the quality of coaching so far. That ought to by hawk one of those grehound super saver tickets back to boise. Maybe Peterson will let him be a towel boy or something.
