Kiseau is certainly learning on the job, but he called a better game against Toledo. However, what the hell was up with PA down 20+ points every play in the third. It loses it's effectiveness when you are down big a d not even trying to run the damn ball.

With Simas back next game I better not see our walkons out there for the majority of the game. It sure would be nice to have a chance at some jump balls if we have to. Hawk better put the most genetically gifted athletes out on the field against WYO even though it seems he dislikes how they do t have to work at it. That blue collar appeal is what I do want to see, I just hate how it seems like he is trying to make a point and teach these guys a lesson on life. Win some games damn it and teach them what it means to never accept defeat and be a winner.

You're preaching to the converted brother. Rest assured McKnight and Espinoza WILL start the next game and they will play the majority of snaps. Hawk loves these guys. Hell I love the heart Scotty plays with but if he's our best receiver then we are in HUGE trouble for the rest of the year. He might be excellent in a slot receiver role with two big, deep receiving threats on the outside. Seeing as how we don't have that Scotty and espy will have to do.

In all fairness, when you have to throw the ball over 60 times some of the pass plays you draw from are going to be play action passes.

I actually didn't think that Kiesau did a bad job tonight. He improved from last week and stuck to the game plan as long as possible. I don't think it's his fault that Ebner got as many opportunities as Simmons or Wright tonight. Hawk's making that call.

I sincerely believe that we'll see steady improvement from Kiesau all year and that, if not at CU, he'll be a very successful offensive coordinator in the college game.

Great. Now we're providing on the job training for offensive coordinators so they can move on to bigger and better.

I'd be fine with on the job training of an OC if we had a HC like Oregon, Notre Dame, or Texas Tech. That's the real problem. Hawkins doesn't know that job well enough to have prepared Kiesau for CSU or to step in and calm things down when he went away from the game plan. I don't know that Kiesau could have done much more tonight, though. He's a quick learner. Plays came in a lot faster, substitutions didn't look like a Chinese fire drill, stuck with the game plan and kept giving Darrell the rock as long as possible, went to a hurry-up to try to spark things. This one's really on Collins and the defense, imho.
