If by a miracle we got to a bowl game that would show some true coaching and buy him a little time.

Dan Hawkins lost my support when he was too stupid to call timeout with 50 seconds left in the first half against CSU. That's coaching 101, and he failed. If he can't even get that right, he's a miserable failure as a coach. We need to cut our losses now and get somebody in here who knows the game and how to properly motivate & prepare the players.

I've had enough. He has to go. Even if this season turned out to be a miraculous 10-2 season (long, long, long shot) I don't think he has lost the respect of the majority of the fans and possibly his team too. Dan is a great guy, but not getting the job done as the head coach.

I vote you guys keep him!!!!

The only way he could possibly win out is by PURE DUMB LUCK. We have seen his weakness as a coach, his personnel decisions are HORRIBLE, and the game management is just as bad. Then there is the lack of motivation for this team which is probably a bigger problem than the first two issues. You suck at any of those three and you aren't winning very many games.

Even if he goes on to have a good season, to me, the damage is done.

I said take us to a bowl game because I doubt very seriously it will happen under the current regime....

Wow, tough croud; about 88% of the votes between the two, "take us to a bowl game" and "I've had enough, he has to go."

I'm done with Hawk.....But what does he care. He is not going to get kicked to the curb like he deserves.

Don't see my answer. At this point, I'd honestly settle for some signs that the program is headed in the right direction.

I'm basically resigned that Hawk is around for a few more years and rather than continue to bash him, I'd really like to see things turn around. So, putting a team on the field that doesn't look like it's taken a giant step backwards from the previous year would be a wonderful way to start.

6 wins... I don't think that's asking too much, but considering the 2 of the 3 "auto-wins" marked down have been losses.

To get to 6, he's got to give up being a "friend" rather than a coach, and playing his best players no matter what.

I dont care if he wins 10 games :)lol: yeah right, I have a better chance at winning the Powerball) he needs to go. I wanted him gone last year, but I was but a few that saw this guy was in over his head and will not succeed in the Big XII. That camp is a little bigger this year.

Bowl game was my criteria for him keeping his job at the beginning of the year. I see no reason to change that just because he had a ****ty start.

I went into this season feeling that 8 regular season wins was the minimum standard for this season.

If we go 8-2 the rest of the way, I'm pretty sure I'd be behind Hawkins again.

If by "support" you mean what I think he needs to do to keep his job, I would say it doesn't matter. He's not going anywhere anytime soon and the correct answer would be "stay the course." That's what's going to happen in any case: lots of course staying. If by "support as head coach" you mean I tell all of my friends how super awesome he is, then the answer is he "takes us to a bowl game." That would be a pretty nice little turn around and I would feel good about next year. Again.

Oh I'm absolutely with you there. I think 8 is pushing it at this point, so I'm allowing myself an in-season adjustment.

I voted "make bowl game." Preferrably, I'd like a 7-5 regular season because that means a WINNING season even with a bowl loss. But if they're 6-6 again, so be it. At this point, winning six games might feel like winning 10, so I guess I could live with that.

Also, it will be HOW they win. I want to see continued improvement from win to win. I realize this team might back into a win or two and not play well, but as long as I can get on here at the end of November and say the team has progressed, I can move on from this year and focus on next without being angry at Hawk and willing to give him one final shot.

Now, if this team wins five or less, I think we should probably cut bait and start over. That would be four straight losing seasons -- that's definitely not acceptable.

I've softened on my demand for wins - at this point, I want to see him put our best talent on the field and rally our troops. I want our team to be passionate and motivated.

This season may best be served as a time to get our best young players experienced for next year. No more 5'6" slow walkon WRs - put our freshmen and JUCO WRs in for every play!! And, I gotta be honest, I want to see a new QB...I watched the replay of the Toledo game and every throw was garbage - they look like throws you make in the parking lot of a game while tailgaiting with a beer in one hand. Enough already - let's get a QB in who can strech the field

For me... A bowl game. So 6 wins.

But, next season would need to look like this..

1-CSU, W
2-@CAL, Competitive
3-Hawaii, W
4-Georgia, Competitive
5-@ Missouri, Competitive
6-Baylor, W
7-Texas Tech, W
8-@ OU, L
9-@ Kansas, W
10-Iowa State, W
11-K-State, W
12-Nebraska, (Could be D-Day here) W

**One of the competatives must be a win (Cal, GA, Mizzou)

9 wins.

No more. I draw a line in the sand this year. I said I would last year and I am not budging. Deliver or GTFO.
