well, it is official. our Buffs are now definitely in the laughingstock category.

since the toledo loss, i have been mocked via phone, in person, and via email by:

notre dame fans
ucla fans
usc fans
northwestern fans (yes, this one is crap!)
bama fans
wisconsin fans
cal fans

it hasn't been this bad for years and year.

it is like i woke up one morning and chucky fairbanks is back in charge.

we really need something good to happen soon. juicebox hawkins has us on the brink of total disaster.

I work with a fusker fan. She and I have a banter that goes back and forth all year.

It's been real fun so far.

She called me the other day and need some technical assistance. I told her I'll help her if CU wins on Saturday.

She is now a Buff fan (at least this weekend).

I work with a bunch of sheep****ers. Thankfully I didn't mouth off to them too much before the game. That, and I'm their primary IT guy for their systems. :smile2:

sadly, most of my non-CU buds (UCLA, Notre Dame, ATM, OU, UT, Penn State) don't really seem to think i can take it so they lay off or don't even bring it up. to be fair, i've voiced a lot of concerns about Hawkins and the way the kool-aid gets ramped up every spring/summer so they are giving me some due. it could be much worse.

I had printouts of Toledo's logo on my monitor when I got to work on Monday. Got back from break the same day and monitor had a 'Go Toledo' print out on it.

This has been worse than the Montana State loss.

Got the same #### at work...told them to **** off. Hey, if they weren't talking about us at all I would get worried. If CSU lost to Toledo would anybody notice? If a bear ####'s in the woods....forget it...

I haven't been getting any crap about the Buffs state right now. It's worse. I've been getting sympathy. We look so bad right now, people can't even lower themselves to talk ****. They just feel sorry for me/us.

:yeahthat:

I'd be happy if people were giving me $#@! right now. Pity is worse.

I started getting doo-doo from people back when Solich had his 7-7 season. Nebraska was suddenly where a lot of those people's teams had been for a long time.

Solich went out on a high note, but the damage to the program had been done. Then along came Callahan and a tremendous amount of "Nebraska is so doomed" talk from all corners.

During those times I never felt like we were in a "laughingstock category" and neither should you Colorado fans. Your anxieties and expectations probably come from the same place Nebraska's has: the knowledge that your program is better than the recent W/L record. You're not Baylor or Iowa State, you're Colorado.

That's why it's a forgone conclusion that it will come around for you.

Ladies and gentlemen of the court, I give you exhibit A

Kidding, appreciate the kind words, but it hurts a little to have to get encouragement from the fusker faithful

I'm probably posting too much here about this. Sorry. I think it's just because the stuff I see in here at this point is so very familiar; you could change just the usernames and the team/school name and it would mostly be posts from many of the Husker boards over the past several *years.* Not months, but many seasons.

We feel that we're pulling out now, we're doing what you'll do.

But I respect the idea that you're saying, "..encouragement from THE ENEMY!!" :smile2:

ya... I am getting more pity than anger... it sucks ass. I talked **** with my neighbor all ****ing summer (UT fan) and now he can't even bring himself to **** with me. It sucks.

I've been largely ignored, but I think that's because I'm in Big 12 South territory and OU and OSU fans don't bother to think about North teams much. Plus, both of them were top five and already lost, so they're thinking about their own "problems" at the moment (which I would glady trade to have at this point).

Thanks to Houston and BYU, things could be worse around the office.
But getting grief from a Baylor fan rather hurts.

I sit next to a fairweather fan that now sports Florida crap around that is continually talking ****. A) Buffs and Gators will not play any time soon - or any other SEC team for that matter B) You didn't go to Florida, live in Florida, or have any affiliation to the state whatsoever...just like whoever espn tells you to like.

However, all of my arguments are overshadowed by our embarassing performances and the best comeback he has is...The buffs are the worst team in the BCS. Sadly, he is pretty much right and I always lose this argument. although, it is pretty much the equivalent of a geology prof providing his opinion on football...

He isn't right.... he is a douchebag.... tell him you are a Steelers fan....

Is there some kind of douchebag reciprocity you want SD buff to go after???

no... you can't reason with a person that picks the front runner.... like Dallas Cowboys fans in Philadelphia (who have no connection to Dallas)...

you just confuse them and tell them that you are a fan of:

Pittsburgh Steelers
Philadelphia Phillies
Pittsburgh Penguins
Los Angeles Lakers......

it confuses them and they have no arguments after that.....

I have a friend who is a sheep****er alum. He now lives out of state but didn't even go to CSU games when he lived here. I told him to **** off when he gave me **** after the game. Told him he wouldn't have said **** had CSU lost, and he knows it.

At least the people who are fans through thick and thin I can respect. But keep the bandwagon ****ers away from me.

My parents are CSU grads, and I called them to congratulate them after the game. And he said "Really? We actually beat you?"

Pissed me off because it just goes to show that CSU fans didn't/don't pay attention to their football team. But, the week after that loss, all these CSU fans started crawling out of the woodwork, talking smack. Last weekend my pops was over while I was starting up the CU game, and he started talking ****, and I snapped back at him that I didn't want to hear it because he wasn't even paying attention to CSU football, and wouldn't have said a word about it had CSU lost.

That is the worst thing...Under Fairbanks I went to the 84-40something game with some OU fans. In the second half they would not even give me any $hit anymore - the sympathy is worst than a good razzing.

I really hate to say it, there are only 3 CU alumni where I work (counting myself) The part that rubs me raw is listening to the Montana State Project Manager act like they have been world beaters since 07. In my neighborhood, I'm surrounded by a couple of Notre Dumb, a couple of USC, 1 kansas, 1 mizzou, a couple Csuwe, needless to say, we don't talk as much during football season. At least they have never messed with my flag.

gawd, that game was horrible. it was far worse than the hawk gaffes.

supposedly, at half time, fairbanks sent an assistant coach over to his old buddy switzer and asked switzer to lay off. he actually asked for mercy. switzer ran the fullback up the middle for most of the second half and CU still couldn't stop them.

that's in my top 5 all-time worst Buff games. the loss to ucla in 81 was also horrible. i was there with some friends from ucla and we met up with some CU players from LA afterwards. that was a bad time, too.

Exactly. I watched the CSU game with a group of NU fans. They were more baffled than anything. Pretty sad.

My Cal, Illinois and Washington fan friends have simply commiserated.

The Oregon ones are as obnoxious as ever for some bizarre reason.

I work with 3 Ohio St grads, a UVA boss, so this week has been silent for me. Oh and an LSU fan, but after the Vandy he hasnt said much either.
