The Wife's Opinion on the Buffs

So we're both alumni, and sitting here watching The Buffalo Stampede. Mark Johnson is on, talking about moving on from Wyoming and using it as a foundation, he eventually calls it a "mid-season makeover".

The wife looks up, says "huh?" "Didn't we just beat Wyoming?"

I respond "Yup"

She says "Mid-season makeover? My powderpuff team could have beat Wyoming!"

LOL.

I got a much more informed opinion from my Dad, who I took to the game on Saturday. I hadn't said a thing regarding my opinion on things (except for what I may have yelled during the game). Here are a few of his post-game comments:

"Cody is not a Big 12 quarterback."

"Wyoming is so bad I could probably help them out by giving them at least a few plays a game." (Dad is 64 years old.)

"What the hell is going on with all these substitutions and how long they take?" (I responded that they were cut down a lot from the first 2 games and he was speechless.)

"Your wide receivers are smaller and slower than a good D-3 team. Well, at least the ones that played most of the game."

"Colorado used to be tough. Everyone hated playing you. What happened to you guys?" (He's a Mizzou guy from back in the 60s.)

Your old man is right on the money, especially about the toughness aspect.

I dunno, if I had heard in April that we'd shut out wyoming or that we'd beat them by 24 I think I'd be ok with it. Both? Yeah, good game.

****. We just won a huge game if you consider the way this program was headed, shut out the opponent, covered the spread (by a lot), and have another HUGE game on the horizon and the majority of the posters on this board won't shut up about how crappy we are. **** that.

I know we aren't where we wanted to be, but come on... You know?

i brought two friends from phoenix with me to the game and they gave their objective opinions as the game was being played...

(paraphrasing here)

"damn...these have got to be two of the smallest quarterbacks i have ever seen playing d1 football...ever..."

"so that is the coach's son? i'm sorry, but you guys are ****ed"

"whoa...did you see that guy hanging onto ralphie's collar? he was running as fast as he could and hanging on for dear life!! that was awesome!!!"

"this crowd is way too polite...the asu fans would be booing the **** out of the offense in this game"

just sayin...

So your wife's powder ****ing puff team could have beaten a team that led Texas late into the second quarter?

I'm disappointed... I really expected something like this with your first response.. to have to wait... well... you're just off your game tonight

Dude, I'm getting neg reps and getting ripped by a bunch of little bitch newbies, how do you think I'm going to react? I laugh, but I'm pissed at the same time.

Newbies have no stick. Don't worty. YMSSRA.

Are some you guys Buffs or just pretending to be. Texas was killing Wyoming in yardage even though the score was close in the 1st half. It was only a matter of time before the flood gates let open.

Let me repeat, there is nothing to be enthusiastic about. Yes, we beat Wyoming. Before the season started was anyone worried about this game? I guess the two thumping defeats made some of you forget we were suppossed to win 10 games and play for the Big 12 Championship.

When we show that we are on track towards doing that, my enthusiasm will begin to grow. In the mean time, Hawkins should shut the F up and lead his team like it is D1 football and not intrmurals.
After all, that is the standard he imposed on his players while humiliating parents of said players. Cant believe that punk has the nerve to walk around with his head up. Until he is fired, we will be a mediocre team and soon, many of the so called Buffs who want us to be happy about our recent "win" will be happy going 7-5 season after season. What a joke. How standards have fallen. :sad2:

Yeah. I was just entertained that that was her initial reaction out of the blue.

And to asnwer your question, she did make the front page of the Daily Camera absolutely blowing up some other chick on a crossing route, so you never know! LOL

 indeed.

I was always proud of the fact that we would play anyone anywhere. I don't know what has happened, but after the Georgia game an old man came up tom and said " I have been a season ticket holder for 47 years and I can count the number of teams that physically dominated us like today on one hand".

At FSU people would ask "What happened to the running game? I always enjoyed watching CU run over teams".

Just more reasons why I have gone from 1 to 4 on the Hawk love scale.

I always love it when opinions are "justified" by longevity on allbuffs. Hilarious. Or admins pointing out they can delete posts. Powerful stuff.

So, are you calling me "old?"

haha, you remind me of my daughter - no matter what I say, her response is "are you calling me fat?" thanks for the laugh..

btw, having loved the buffs for about 45 years now, it's hard for me to call anyone old...

You've got me by 12 years you old fart. Oh, and I have a day off tomorrow. In case anyone is wondering why I'm on this board at 12:40.

Would this be the game we played in Georgia against a ranked team and lost in the last 2 minutes of the game? The same game we were winning 13 to 0 going into the 4th quarter? We were physically dominated in that game? This can't be the same game we are talking about. If it is, I would have asked the old man if we had seen a physician lately to be checked for dementia.

Yeah, I didn't get that one either.

This post is worthless without pictures.

Charles fumble sealed our fate.

Your wife doesn't know what she's talking about and it's pretty stupid of you to bring her into a debate about Colorado football.

Yes, yes, he is (right, that is). We are not tough like we used to be.

So, are you calling me "old?"

Speak up!! his hearing aid batteries are getting run down.....:smile2:

Reading comprehension. It isn't for everyone. Unless I read it wrong that is. My take on that is the Georgia guy was telling the CU guy that he had not seen very many teams dominate his Bulldogs like CU did that day. Of course, we will not rehash that CU could have won that game had Hawk taken the safety and kicked out.
