The thing that really jumps out at me is... Miller. highest grade of 82% against Toledo? WTF? I know they moved him around some, but is he really struggling that badly? Also, look at the rest of those high grades... The average high is in the low 80's... These guys are making the numbers from LAST YEARS Oline look GOOD.... :sad1:... I really hope givens get's it together and that some of our guards step up... Adkins with a high of 79% and having played all the snaps...

Bright spot: Keenan stepped up big when Iltis went down against WY... Hope he can really step in there, because I have a feeling Iltis is not someone we can depend on to stay healthy.

Solder seems to be playing well. Beating Miller in knockdowns etc. Starting to fulfill some of that potential? I know he has been pretty inconsistent no matter what these numbers say tho...

We have a pretty young O-line. I think they will progress as the season continues. They obviously not where we thought/hoped they'd be before the season started.

This year we're young, last year we're injured, what's going to happen next year? Stay tuned! Maybe someday we can be old.

Protecting the QB is a large part of the O-line duties, and our QB makes that job a lot harder.

It is a lot harder to protect an immobile QB. In passing situations the defense can do anything it wants, because Cody can’t hurt them with his feet.

Cody is the least accurate game time QB in the Big 12. This means we are in long situations more than most teams, and therefore face more Blitzes.

Cody is short and does not see the field well. He holds the ball longer while trying to locate receivers and has to wait for them to get to passing Lanes. This means the O-line has to hold blocks longer.

Because Cody doesn’t have the arm strength to get the ball down the field quickly, he often goes completely through is progression and throw to the outlet receiver. Making the O-line job harder.

Because of Cody’s talent limitations at QB, he has a hard time exploiting the weaknesses that a Blitz gives you, and is forced to pass to the outlet, if he has the time. Therefore teams don’t fear blitzing and make the O-line job Harder.

Cody rarely hits his receivers in stride, so the safeties don’t have to give any cushion.

Cody has a hard time throwing over the rushing linemen to complete a screen pass so they are never very effective. So more blitzes.

As for the run blocking, It is a lot harder to run block when the LB’s and safeties are in the box all game. Cody struggles to lengthen the field, so defenses stack the box and shut down the run.

I am no D1 coach but a limited QB can make a good line look average. Just like a good QB can make an average line look good.

Yessiree, Cody is also responsible for the Kennedy assassination, global warming and arrested development being cancelled.

Your right, if the O-line would just get better then Cody would go back in time and stop the Kennedy assassination, he will stop Globle warming single handed, and just correct the little things to make arrested development not suck. Its all the O-lines fault that super Cody can't save the world.

Right on the money. Pretty thankless job for the line right now. Also, I have yet to see us pull a lineman and run the sweep. What's the point of having tackles who can run if you're not going to pull someone in behind and let them get downfield and flatten someone once in awhile?
