There's a new QB working out with the team.

Blake Stanley,

San Joaquin Memorial HS
Fresno, California (Class of 2008)

6'3"
190 lbs.

Went to prep school on East Coast after high school for one year,
then enrolled in CU this year.

Could not find on Scout
Rivals - no profile, only a mention that he was at a Stanford camp.

Profile article on Blake Stanley "Sunshine" from Greenfield MASS Recorder

Will wear #19 for CU.
Current CU Roster. (Yes, he's there.)

I'm most amazed that Alferd caught it, considering the kid's not a kicker or punter.

Nice catch AJ.

Wow that is one he'll of a late walkon. Class of 2008? Juco? Or just took time off?

I think he is a walk on. I also think that he was suspended for the first few weeks for an "incident".

Apologies if this is not correct.

Stanley's stats at Northfield Mount Herman School (Mount Herman, MA) last season:

Passing 36 of 69 for 513 yds
Rushing 16 for 90 yds

They had another QB that got more snaps, but completed less than half his passes and didn't run as well.

NMH is a pretty elite prep school (for academics, not football). i went to Vanderbilt for two years before transferring to CC....and there were a crap-ton of NMH people at both.

I wanna know, is he a good kid who says and does all the right things in practice???

Perhaps daddy will ensure Danny boy has a job somewhere next year if he lets his little boy play football.

Another bit of info that explains the dearth of stats:

Blake Stanley's high school career was sweet -- but short. When all was said and done, his ''career'' spanned only his senior year. His entire junior year was spent on the sidelines with a preseason fractured vertebra in his lower back.

During his senior year at San Joaquin Memorial High School, despite a 5-5 record and a first-round loss in the state playoffs, Stanley threw for more than 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Following graduation from San Joaquin, Stanley attended a prep school on the East coast (where he also played QB.) As it was neither college nor JC, he retains his five years of eligibility and has five years to play four.
