Watched a ton of games today not just to watch but specifically looking at the QB situation at other schools. I didnt see one school with a worse situation than ours and folks that includes Arkansas St. ****ing New Mexico has a better qb than we do, wtf??? I also saw Klatt on tv today talking about CU and almost everything he said, I agree with. He said alot of things but the identity statement really stood out and he basically said he couldnt figure out what the hell we were doing. I thought about that and he's right. What the hell is our identity on either side of the ball? Imho, we dont have one on either. I think the guy on RR is right, we are ****ing soft. Hawk keeps saying we just gotta keep plugging away and eventually it'll crack or pop or what the **** ever. I mean, doesnt this team need a ****ing identity before thats possible. To be quite honest, I doubt they know what they are as a team. It's looking more and more like we arent gonna have an identity until we have a new leader. WTF, this is year 4 and we should have our identity by now. I guess ours is getting embarrassed by the likes of CSU, who just lost to Idaho, and Toledo.

I agree with you on both points. I honestly don't think Cody is a legit QB anymore; how Hansen hasn't gotten a shot yet is beyond me.

It's borderline ridiculous how things have went with Hawk in the last 4 years with his scheme. How many types of offenses have we had? Seems like a new scheme every offseason with Cody plowing the defense to the tune of 5 TDs and 400 yards in the spring game, only to get shut down by anyone with a pulse. Even the first year we all chalked it up to Cox not being the man for the job and Hawk having to cater to using BJax, but honestly if Cox was so bad how did he win the job over Brian White and how was it even an option to use BJax since he didn't even fit what the offense was trying to do. I also find it ridiculous that Cox got benched pretty darn quick and wasn't given a second chance after performing pretty similar to how Cody has been playing half of his games. Yet there's no question as to who's going to be the QB next week.

Our Defensive Identity: 40 yard Gashers
Our Offensive Identity: 3 and Outs
Switch that up and we'd be riding high ^_^

On a serious note though, what kind of offense were were running in 2007? That seemed like a pretty good scheme. It wasn't flashy but it had good balance if I remember it right, and it actually worked. We should've built on that instead of falling in love with the spread and trying what we're doing right now. On Defense I have no idea what happened. Sure our D-line is horrible, but we knew this, just didn't expect the LB's and DB's to be just as bad.

The biggest problem (or concern) I have though is Pittman. He said this was the best year he's seen? Really? I've got no idea what he's looking at honestly.

Yep, this is an utter ****ing disaster. Hawk would have to pull off the coaching job of the century to fix this mess. It would be nothing short of a miracle, in the very least a small one. I for one dont see it happening.

.

I am now thinking that Hansen pretty much figures to take his redshirt, force Cody to play all the time, then have three years to be the QB under the new CU coach.

This became painfully clear during the first two painful, unnecessary losses.

I wonder if that's what he and his family are thinking also. Not so sure Hirschmann won't beat him out when he shows up on campus, but Hansen probably suspects he's not going to get a fair shake with papa Hawk around.

I can't really blame Hansen if that's what he's thinking. He's wondering if he comes in now, only to not play well, Cody will be right back in to save the day and another year of trying to redshirt is down the drain.

It's reasonable to make that assumption. When he came into games last season and got the team moving, hawkins inevitably brought Three And Out in to replace him when the Buffs got into scoring territory.

IMO Hansen blew it by not transferring in late August after Hawkins was named the starter. He could be doing his redshirt at his new program.
And I don't think it will be a real high profile program, but some place where he gets a shot. Maybe lower MWC, WAC, or I-AA. I'm not one of those who thinks that he is head & shoulders better than Hawkin's kid, but he's certainly no worse, and can run a little.

Like it or not, a new (CU) coach (assuming there is one) won't necessarily assume that the best QB wasn't starting and will not likely automatically prefer Hansen over any other QB on the roster, or over his own QB recruit, whether a FR or a JUCO.

He's in a pickle right now.

Funny if he violated a team rule intentionally when he too heard the rumor that he was to start last week. Savy.
