CU vs Kansas on National TV....

Let Hawk coach the team thru the KU game and fire him straight after it so the interim coach can start off with an "easy game" against KSU. I know there are no easy games in the Big 12 (this ain´t intramurals, after all), but KSU and aTm look like the most winable games left.

Iowa St isn't that good but we aren't either
I'm sure the Cats, Clones & Aggs all thinking that CU is a 'W' themselves :sad1:

:cry::cry:

Why must we share our missery with the rest of the country. Normally I would be happy to have a national game. Attention, recruiting, more money, etc.

This year we just get to look inept and have people laugh at us.

Please, no more (at least until the Hawkins error is over.):sad2:

I think the exposure is a good thing even though we're not doing well. Hopefully if and when we pull a surprise it'll be a national TV game against a good opponent. Plus the TV money is always a good thing.

Positive and forward thinking. I like it.

Could it be the network needs to schedule a comedy during that time slot:sad1:

I knew this comment would P!$$ buffsyko off.

We will see how it goes on national T.V. It could get ugly if things don't get turned around for the Buffs by the time the KU game comes around.

Squandering a wonderful opportunity, unless we earn sympathy points with recruits.

Maybe the Big XII comish is trying to prop up the program by getting it more tv exposure.

by the time the KU game comes around ? That game is next week. We are not turning things around at Austin.

An interesting plan, on firing Coach Hawkins after the game.

While I'm not optimistic about Texas next week, I do remain a shred of optimism vs. Kansas.

HOWEVER...

To further The Jens Plan:

If we're not beating KU by halftime, why not fire Hawk AT halftime? Make use of the national exposure and show potential recruits that we're serious about making changes. Have a little ceremony while he's running off the field. Mike Bohn could grab the mike from Erin Andrews (who're we kidding...Shelly Smith) and do his best Donald Trump impersonation.

That'll give 'em something to talk about on the halftime show. Maybe Lou Holtz would be willing to give the new, coachless Buffs a halftime pep talk?

Well, I doubt Mike Bohn is related to Jean Löring who once fired a coach in the locker room at HT with the words "You have nothing to say here anymore, you wanker!" and I didn´t literally mean "straight after the game" ... my main point is that you usually want a new coach to start off on a high and I´d say we have a better chance of beating KSU than KU quite simply because KU is a far better team than KSU.

Don't downplay a great idea and make it less brilliant.

The thrust of this thread tends to be, "Why are we embarrassing ourselves on TV--it only hurts the program."

It's my intent to turn a negative into a positive. Make the maximum use of that television exposure for the good of the program.

And yes, I'm joking. But still...

We can beat KU. Their defense is almost as bad as ours is.

:yeahthat:The team that showed up Thursday night in Morgantown could beat KU fo' so'. Question is will that team show, or will it be the one that played Toledo.

 I think people are wondering why I suddenly burst into laughter in my little cubicle...

I agree Kansas is one of the most overatted teams in the country. I've watched a couple times, they haven't played anybody and they're soft.

The team that was giftwrapped four turnovers in the first half and did nothing with them?

Is that the same team we're talking about here?
