Nobody expects to win this game this week. There pretty much isn't anything they could do this week that would make me more pissed off than I am. However, the game I'm now focusing on is the KU game the following week. If they are going to have any chance for a mediocre season, it all hinges on beating KU. A good season is already out of the question, but mediocrity is still something we can all rally behind.

at this point, i don't see much of any result changing things.

a. CU gets blown out. well, we all expect it. hawkins is apparently safe in any case. so, we whine on the innerwebs and that's about all that changes.

b. CU plays close but loses. then, we get to listen to hawk spout a bunch more bs about how close they are. but it is still an L and we still will have a program in total ****ing disarray.

c. CU wins by some miracle. ok, great. i'll be ecstatic but part of me will still be wondering how the **** you can lose to ****ing toledo and the sheep and give up a 1000 ****ing yards in 2 ****ing games and then win this one. i'll still be wondering how the hell these clowns are going to get it turned the **** around here.

one game isn't going to change anything. the only way i'd get off the "fire these guys" wagon is if they manage to get bowl eligible this season. and even then i'd have doubts, but i'd give them another season due to sacking up and turning a season around.

i fully expect ut to ****ing clobber CU. they'll name their score. +32 seems about right unless Mack decides he needs to run it up to impress the voters or something.

and, yet, even when i think i am dead to the pain, another little piece of my black and gold heart gets crushed every ****ing time we witness one of these debacles.

Just be glad UT is in the top 2 or Mack would look to run it up. Didn't they try an onsides kick against us late last year?

I can't handle another 70-3. Despite where we are today, a heart stomper like that would put the program back even further. Just please keep it close Buffs, I think we can at least cover. On the other hand, a victory would be off-the-charts astonishing and enjoyable. We would RUIN their season. Might also save Hawk's job....

Does it really matter anymore......It is time to just support the players, because we all know that Talkins is not going any were....win, lose or tie we are stuck with this dickweed for at least the reminder of this yr and next yr, We all know that he will not/never bench HIS SON, so we just have to suck it up, hope the kids go out and give it all they got.....GO BUFFS!!!!!

I think the important factor is how will it impact the team. A total beatdown could impact could pretty much remove any confidence this team may have. I hope they can at least be competitive so they have something to build upon.

he ain't gonna get another year if the season progresses on its likely trajectory.

if the team gets totally destroyed in these next 2 games and it becomes even more clear to bohn that the players are no longer bought in at all and that boosters and everyone else is running the other way, then i think a coaching change before the end of the year is not out of the realm of possibility.

i strongly disagree with what ringo said in his recent article.

I dont see it happening, where is the money going to come from to buy out Talkins, bring in a new coach from a BCS school and the AD still paying an 8mil loan back to the university.....Talkins knows this, he has this school by the short hairs.and it ****ing sucks, for the fans but mainly for these kids that made a commitment to play football here...

i believe that the funding will be there if bohn decides to pull the trigger. there are ways to get it done. and, remember that the buyout costs and costs of acquiring a new coach are only part of the mix... there are lost television revenue, lost ticket sales, and lost contributions to consider as well.

They will come up with the money....they have thrown the straw man out their using their propoganda minsters (Woelk and Ringo) about lack of support and we cannot afford to let Hawkins go, the backlash from boosters indicated that is not acceptable. Time is running out and if CU goes 3-9 or 4-8 Hawkins will not be back.

I for one hope to see it happen, that is Talkins given his walking papers. Because I dont see this season getting any better for the BUFFS, and now going into conference play our recruiting is going to start to take a hit. I just wish that they could pull the trigger NOW......GO BUFFS!!!

r u really serious about giving a **** about looking mediocre? WTF gives? i can't stand cu football anymore i hated it when we were winning north titles and were mediocre. but we are so below average there's no hope. give up! when we finish the season with 2 wins will u then admit we need to blow this thing up and and start over?

The thought of CU going 5-3 in conference - what is necessary to make it to the lowest level bowl game - is laughable.

It isn't impossible that we can beat Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri. Will we? I doubt it but ,damn folks, none of those teams are very good. Id say Nebraska is the best of those 3 right now. This Texas team will kill us but they were better last year and I dont really have a problem saying that. The Big 12 is there for the taking but we dont have the person to get us there. Florida will kill anybody this conference produces and maybe even with their backup qb.

Don't forget that it was the 70-3 beatdown at the hands of Texas that ultimately cost Barnett his job.

If Juicebox experiences a similar embarassment, perhaps it will signal the end of his time at Colorado as well.

What do you think it would take for him to be fired mid-season as opposed to at the end of the year??

Last year the Buffs had an actual backup QB who looked good in the 4th for whatever reason. Maybe Texas let up, but he threw a good looking TD pass late in the game. It didn't help that we missed (I think) 4 field goals in the 1st half while the outcome was still in question. Makes you wonder why the freshman from East isn't getting a shot since that trend continues.

GB had a lot of baggage off the field that Hawkins has packed away. Not the same situation IMHO.

Kind of makes you wonder what went down with Ballenger. At least he looked like a QB.

He looked good in that appearance. His TD pass was about 35 yards and on the money. Off the top of my head I think he was 8-12 for over 100 yards. I guess he saw the handwriting on the wall when Hansen's redshirt was burned.

Truthfully, I expect to beat kansas. However, Texas I doubt it. If we get close, id be surprised. Hawk is in over his head, period. Mack Brown isnt a great coach, look where he is. The guy is in a wetdream of recruiting.

I used to believe that Mack Brown slightly underachieved based on what his situation provided. I tended to credit Young for the national championship, and viewed Brown as a mostly solid coach who lived in a hotbed of recruiting.

But, last year changed my opinion. Texas was a very young team last season. One of the few teams in the nation younger than CU. Sure their players are talented, but look what they accomplished with that youth.

Also, Brown has to compete with Oklahoma, aTm, TT, TCU, SMU and the rest of the ****ing nation for those recruits. It seems like he's got it easy now, but he had to earn that premier recruiting spot atop the mountain.
