Q: "What are you thoughts on the play at quarterback?"

A: "Well, there's always going to be a little of "Well, he didn't make that throw" or "He ran backwards 20 yards to get sacked for a safety" but you try to look at the whole thing and say "Here's what the numbers say." When you have some young guys, there's obviously going to be some trial by fire and even though teams are extremely talented and well coached, that doesn’t mean that you can’t be in the same arena and the opportunity to win a football game. Then you look around after three years and say "Well how come we're still lining up to do this when we should be lining up to do that." So there's always going to be some of that."

Q: "How do you cope with CU losses?"

A: "I think you kind of start with some different things, you end up getting smashed a little bit and you work out those things in there. You just go, "Well what can I drink?" and you kind of look around and see some different things, like beer or grain alcohol, and you go, "Ok, well do I have some wine too?" So there's that side too. All that stuff just kind of starts to seep in there. You just have to mix it up."

Q: "So you're pretty numb by the end of games?"

A: "Well, and you know what? That's awesome. That's where you want to be. You look around and you go, "Guess what, that's part of the whole deal, right there."

Q: "Can your wife stand you during CU games?"

A: "Well, she is so saintly that I don't ever think that she is going to say anything bad. But you get in there and you start to watch the whole thing unfold and you see things start to get out of hand a little, and you go "****" or "****" and maybe you start throwing things around a little. So then maybe you have a couple of gashers go against you and you go, "Ok, what can I throw now that I haven't already smashed." Then your wife comes in and goes, "Why is the coach still playing his son?" and you don't have an answer so you start to crack right there."

Outstanding. The only thing you forgot were healthy doses of "We'll see".

Q: "What are you thoughts on the play at quarterback?"

A: We'll see. You gotta stick to your guns. Look what I did with B-Jax a couple of years ago. You don't want to hurt their confidence, so you just keep them in there and remind em your there for them. A QB's confidence is a touchy thing, you gotta stay on an even keel, and it'll just happen.

FIFY :smile2:

Sounds exactly like his bullshat BuffNut! I crack up reading his Tuesday quotes from the press conferences. He has been saying the same thing for 4 years! He always says...'people dont realize how close we are'...it's more like he doesnt realize how out of touch his philosophical ass is...I bet this guy is in a looney bin before he is 60...the guy is soo out of touch with reality.

i think if i were the coach of these here Buffs, i don't think even grain alcohol would get me where i wanted to be post-game. maybe paint thinner.

Reptastic. Man you got it down. That's Hawkspeak. Funny how the fanbase is becoming fluent in it.

Tagged as a stoudt candidate.

Bonus rep for successfully turning that bitterness into humor.

If you can't post something nice, post something funny!

I recommend reading it a second time. It keeps getting funnier.

Oh man, I almost shat myself at work from laughing so hard. I've come back to re-read it several times today. I can't get enough. This took real wit. :congrats::drink2:

I'd pay real money to see Hawk read it. Which Hawk face would he make?

Actually, not funny at all...that is, we are becoming fluent in his crap. The wheels on the train are off...how depressing. Great post by Buffnuts, though. If we don't laugh, we will cry....

I just read this on Buffzone:

That`s what you want, so the kid can go out and just play within himself and let that other stuff grow. That`s OK. That`s just part of the whole deal. Some gotta pave the way and some gotta raise the roof.

Go out and play within himself?

Let that other stuff grow?

Pave the way and raise the roof?

He is talking in circles that entire article. I loved this answer:

That`s a hard question to ask of me because you`re looking at a whole big picture. Obviously, from an objective standpoint, you`d love to win more games. Bottom line, I think every quarterback is kind of measured off of winning more games. You`d love to have the efficiency number be higher. You`d love to have the interceptions lower, from a purely objective standpoint. "From a subjective standpoint, the guy is pretty tough. He`s gotten mashed a lot and never wilted. He`s what you want out of your quarterback from that standpoint in terms of being a leader and being a rock-solid guy and being consistent and being there. Does that exceed my expectations? I don`t know if that`s the case.

How is a guy who is not winning enough while throwing too many INTs "consistent"? And WTF does "I don't know if that's the case" mean?

It was that press conference the other day that inspired the rant - I think it is the last time I can read that stuff unless things turn around. And then you start to go "Ok..."

got it, just skip some of the words and you get:

He`s what you want out of your quarterback
from that standpoint
in terms of being a leader and being a rock-solid guy and being consistent and being there.

This thread is great. Funny and sad at the same time.

But really, I stopped reading or listening to him right after the Toledo game. I didn't even try to hear anything from him after the Wyoming game because...well...it was Wyoming.

When I watch the Buff Stampede I fast forward when he is talking and watch highlites and stuff about the other sports.
