Prediction: Scott will transfer in the next two weeks

but to be honest....only our kicking game and future recruiting will suffer...I like Speedy better....but the recruiting ramifications will hurt for a while.

if scott looked any better than he has i would agree.the truth is scott was overrated. i've never seen him make one guy miss. and i think he knows it.

Yeah, I think he's gone. It sucks but Hawk did a job on him AND Speedy has emerged as a legit weapon. Those are the breaks.

i like Darrell but he's not a killer like Adrian Peterson. he's just not "that guy".

AD is never out of shape, ya know? that's who he is.

DS needs more touches.

I saw him make guys miss last year but then he was getting more than 1 carry per half. Evereytime he gets the ball our OL is getting pushed into him

Tonight was the fastest that I've seen him look. He should have gotten more carries once it was clear that Speedy was having an off night

I think he will be around for the rest of the season. The decision to transfer will depend on what happens the rest of the way. He may just wait to see who the coaching staff will consist of. (Not saying there are going to be whole sale changes, but there will be changes IMHO, if the wins don't start showing up.)

I think Scott is improving nicely, he should start getting more touches soon. Especially against KU, let him build some confidence. If he does transfer, which I hope he doesn't, I see him doing a lot better than what we've seen out of him here.

He's not that kind of runner. How many guys did Ron Dayne make miss? DS is much more of that type of runner.

The guy can fly when he turns on the jets - as shown on the punt return. I'd be surprised if he left, though. He's not a full-of-himself kind of guy.

speedy is the best runner--bottom line. I'm not even convinced Scott is better than Sumler. If he wants to transfer I wouldn't fault him, but it should be chalked up to being beaten out by a better back.

That's true, and if really wanted to leave wouldn't he have went when Josh Smith went?

Sumler is a better blocker than runner, which is why he's only in for passing downs.

Speedy should get his carries but scott has got to get more than 2-3 carries a game. :wow:

Also, is it just me or does Scott only get run plays up the middle? Lets try other things with him, maybe we shouldn't just pound him up between our Guards, who really can't block. Maybe a couple of pass plays to him, get him in open situations. Actually I'd really like to see Scott run the kind of pass plays that we tried with Stewert in the WVU game. He's much better suited for that.

It sure would be nice to see him get at least 15 carries in a game. Just once. Please. There's just no way at this point to know what he's capable of..

You guys are truly morons if you don't think DS is good... It's hard to make someone miss when there are 7 guys through the line of scrimmage when your qb snaps the ball.

Secondly, he has only seen significant carries in 2 games (in his career), and averaged over 6 yards per carry each time. He's not just good.. he's very good. The comparisons to Adrian Peterson are unfair to a college Soph who never gets to play.

He's overrated? Why? Because he doesn't come in cold in the 2nd qtr and break off a 40 yd run? Then come in an hour later in the fourth qtr and break off a 60 yard run?

Over the last 3 games, where D Scott has rushed for 5 carries for -1 yards, he is STILL averaging more yards than Speedy per carry.

I think Darrell is good, just not with this team. Maybe he needs a change of scenery.

I feel really bad saying this, but it just doesn't look like it's going to work out here for him.

:stupid:

I really don't have a problem with the way the RB's are used right now.

Speedy is clearly our best option, he's a tough little runner and can make people miss.

Sumler will never be confused for an all-american or even all-conference but he's dependable and a physical runner who can get yards after contact.

Scott does neither of the things I bolded. He goes down at first contact every time. He's nowhere close to being good enough to garner major minutes, at this point.

Really? What makes you think the new coach won't know how to use him?

Just wait, once our O-line starting opening up some holes we'll be able to see how good our Rb's really are.

I KNOW he's good. I know in any other system in the country this guy is getting his carries and getting into his rythmn and he's on his way to the league. You don't become the number 1 RB recruit in the country by accident and you don't have NFL scouts drooling over you for your smoldering good looks, everyone and their mother wanted this kid and Hawk has put him in deep storage. Don't get me wrong Speedy is the truth but DS SHOULD be the thunder to Speedy's lightning. Any coach with a pulse and half a brain would be running these guys till the defense begs for mercy. If you could compliment them with a semi-competent QB who can work playaction you'd have pure gold.

There is no question he is overrated. He could be very good and still be overrated given the expectations, but he is overrated nonetheless.

I didn't know he was averaging 6 yds per carry, but I do know the lion share of those were against Toledo, where he averaged 7. The same Toledo that some random dude from Purdue averaged 12yds per carry against the week prior. The same Toledo that another guy from OSU averaged 9yds against the week after. What would his average be this year without that game?

And then there was last year. If you didn't see Speedy was better last year than Scott, we have different types of eyeballs.

If Scott is lucky he gets two carries a game and those carries usually occur when the opposing team is utilizing a run blitz. No RB is going to have success if they are limited to so few touches.

And to be fair, Scott is also probably the best receiving RB on the team.

This says more about the OL than DS. Can you imagine the punishment he would inflict with 62-36 kind of holes to run through?

No they won't! Geez. Plus, he isn't going to transfer in the next two weeks. Holy ****! God, you people really need t chill!
