POSITIVE POST: Forrest West, Kasa and Bonsu impressed me tonight.

I thought I'd post a positive post with all the negativity about the QB and Talkins..

I was watching the game in a bar without sound and a lot of people talking and from a distance but those guys along with Cunningham at times jumped out at me on the field. It seems we might in a couple of years have a good foundation of a good DL..

Still let's not sit on these guys Talkins, if you or here or someone else is the coach let's bring in another 4 or 5 DL to further improve the depth..

I thought we really tackled well when the game was still in doubt.. Not sure what to make of it but I'll take the improvement.. Nice to see we had some fight out there on defense.

I'm going to watch the replay on TIVO to get a better look in how we played on defense.

I don't have anything positive to say about the offense.

Riar, Deehan, and Speedy played well, so screw off....:lol::lol:

Games on again at midnight, I'll be watching the OL. Those players you mentioned and the rest of the defense played their butts off. Jalil struggled but did have a pick.

jalil was great on everything but the double moves...

Love the young Dlinemen...

I agree on Jalil, he played screens better than anyone has all year, he supported in the run game, and he seemed to lock down everyone not named Shipley.

The Dline has gotten continually better since the Toledo disaster. Each week more players show up and make plays. At this point, Herrod, Cunningham, Kasa, West, and Bonsu (and Beatty if you want to consider him a lineman) have all shown that they can play at the B12 level. They've really stepped up in the run game, but they're starting to get a push in the pass game as well. I'd like it if we weren't as reliant on the blitz with Chappelle, Burton, or another LB to really get a sack, but they're making progress every week. Nice.

That move by Ship would have gotten most CB's. Excellent route.

Troo. Have to question why of all of UT's receivers we were leaving CBs on an island against Shipley and not the other guys.

I'm going to rewatch it again but did I miss something or did lockridge not play?

He returned the first kick and was definitely in on special teams (kick/punt coverage) later in the game, but I don't think he got any plays on O.

I would like to see Jimmy Smith just play the opposing teams best WR each week. I think he's by far our best man cover guy. Jalil looks like he's better at playing a zone and reacting to the footall or the QB.

yeah great route but what in the hell are we doing running a zero coverage when we cant get pressure consistently? To me that is suicide, especially with a team with speed. we dont have champ bailey corners.

It's not like we sent everyone on that play, there still should've been safety help over the top for their best WR.

The best part about the game tonight was seeing that we DO have talent all over the place. Our defense was playing great and most of it was by underclassmen. If we can ever figure out how to run an offense we might have something here.

I wanna second that, everytime I saw Jimmy Smith lined across from Shipley I got excited because I knew it'd be a great play one way or the other, just wish he was on him more often.
