How good is Texas?

I'd love to think our D has turned it around, but the pessimist in me is wondering if UT just isn't very good by their standards. So far their wins are over Lousiana-Monroe, Wyo, a mediocre Tech team, and UTEP.

I really doubt we just saw the #2 team in the nation. They may get exposed next week by a 3-2 OU team.

UT kicks OU's ass...and we win out with Hansen at the helm.

I question a lot of ranked teams - going into the weekend Missouri was ranked, NU was ranked - both of those teams have serious issues. Of course, it's all relative...

Texas is as good as advertised. They got caught flat footed because they overlooked us. These are young guys not NFL veterans. When the light switch went on they put us away. I think OU has a good chance against them but Texas is a more complete team. The sooners lost to BYU. The mormon team isn't THAT good.

I dont think they are the #2 team in the nation, but our defense did show up tonight to play......Bama should move up to the #2 spot....TX - OU next week, Sam Bradford back, should be a good one

This. It was apparent UT didn't take us seriously. But who figured THIS would be the game where CU looked alive on both sides of the ball? The Horns will handle OU. Their final score against Baylor looks big but they struggled most of the day against a Bears team without their best player in Griffin. And oh, UT will tee off on Bradford.

I honestly thought their offense would be better. They really don't have much of a running game.

There's no question they've got athletes all over the field, though....

BS. We were right there until we totally self-destructed with the slowest-ass punt I've ever seen in my life, and a stupid pass in the flat. The D played well, but if UT was real, they would have matched Toledo in passing yards...

Absolutely not, the 2 best teams in the country are Florida and Alabama. I think there are possibly 2 other SEC teams that could beat Texas. I think Alabama right now is playing better than Florida.

Let me get this right. So, becuase we gave Texas a game, now, Texas sucks? Is that right?

Maybe. There's only one team coming out of the SEC though. The Big XII championship will be decided next week. You can underestimate Texas till you're blue in the face but at this moment I don't see anyone in the conference that has anything for them. If they run the table they're in the MNC game. That simple.

No, they are not very good because of the way they performed against us.

You are the most defensive person I have ever seen.

I'm gonna go with Texas is the 2nd best team in the country and our defense handled them tonight.

I know what you're getting at, but UT is the best team in the Big 12. kNU might give them a run, but UT has too many horses. Still a pretty good chance they'll be playing either Bama or UF for the MNC.

Their front 7 on D is unbelievable. McCoy is still McCoy. Shipley is a beast.

Our D was lights out tonight. If they keep playing like that, we really will just need to fix a couple little things on offense to win a lot of games.

Little things. Like having more running and passing yards than penalty yards. :smile2:

I kid. Actually, I think we're close to turning the corner.

Yeah, little things like that ^ :bang: and maybe breaking into Kiesau's office, and sneaking a diagram of a Toss Sweep into the playbook. But seriously, it was fun watching the D play shoulder to shoulder.

Maybe not #2 good, but #1 in the #2 conference in the country. And outside of the SEC, there is a ****-ton of parity among all likely bowl eligible teams in major college football right now. Never saw a year with so many average looking undefeateds after five weeks.

Texas will win 10+ games this season and play in a BCS bowl and probably mow over any Big 10 or ACC team. If they can beat Oklahoma next week they might find themselves in the big one.
