I held my ground with the CU haters

Went to Rock Bottom in Loveland with the wife to watch the game yesterday and the CU haters got under my skin, I had to say some things.

We sit with a couple of buff fans who were watching the game and they have the CU game on the bigscreen over the CSU game. The csu game is all over the place, but on smaller TV's.

A Nebraska fan starts going off about how the hometown team is not on the bigscreen. I turned to him and said, "The buffs are the hometown team bud!" He says, "no, this is northern Colorado, not Boulder!" And I responded with a "Colorado is BUFF country, husker fans are doing a good job of moving here and changing that though."

When a Ram fan starts clapping when Texas had the pick 6, a minute later Utah put the final nail in the coffin and I clapped and said, "Yaaah Go UTah!! I guess CSU doesn't care about strength of schedule!!" The guy turns around and just stares at me with a WTF look.

Nothing got near fighting, it's just the haters get to me and I will back up the buffs no matter what. It is funny how much CSU and NU fans hate CU.

I hear you. A football fan should be able to cheer on his/her team, no matter what team it is, or where he is at the time. It's not that NU fans (I can't speak for CSU fans) hate CU fans, NU fans tend to hate ignorant, self centered and obnoxious CU fans. Yes, there are some of those on both sides of the fence.

I assume you are not one of those fans by your post.

You should only be allowed to watch your team within nebraska state boundaries. Seriously.

Yea, I guess you are right. It's like if you are in China and speak out against the ruling party you are put in jail and go through brain washing before reintroduction back into society.

Yes, I do in fact believe your have a point. Let's go out, round up all non-believers and purge them across state lines (the heck with reintroduction into society, takes to much time). I'm going out right now and purge my neighbor down the street out of Nebraska back to Kansas (the S.O.B.s are Kansas State fans).

See....youre on board!

All 3 of those teams can be switched around in that statement, and it still holds true.

I know that, it just boggles my mind though how all three can act at times. It's like jesus christ, there are fans of a lot of different teams in here, don't act like a douche, and I wont give you ****!

It's also funny how many ram/husker fans there are in COlorado that cheer on the huskers, rams, broncos, avs, rockies and any other CO team, but put the buffs down.

LOL! Your night sounded a lot better than mine. :smile2:

You guys are the ones who wear red every day and drive red cars. Pro-China, pro-brainwash from my observation.

Zac Lee for Heisman. It's impossible to see how anybody could vote against him.

This year it is Ndamukong Suh for the Heisman, next year it will be Zac Lee:thumbsup:

At least it wasn't the Buff fans that were haters like my last experience in '99 at Mile High. We were surrounded by Buff "fans" who were screaming for Moschetti's head in the FIRST QUARTER! I spent the entire game out of my seat in the Concourse...looking out at the Denver skyline wondering WTF I was doing there! Wishing I was at a bar in one of the hotels I was looking down on.

And THAT was before the tear gas...

CU fans are funny that way when it comes to their QB's it seems.

He means a lot to the Husker defence, I am glad he stayed:smile:

You said you went fishing Satuday, do you have a pictures to post?
Actually, NU's whole front 4 is pretty stacked. I actually enjoyed watching them own Mizzou. I think we match up better but will need better QB play. I like Cody a lot but he just doesn't have the tools to compete consistently.

Well I know a lot of CSU fans like to cheer on NU. ****ing CSU Huskers all over northern Colorado, I have to roll my eyes sometimes.

I like to see the Huskers win. Not against CU, but I want all big XII teams to win. When it comes to conference play, I still want to see NU win. I like to see Colorado and Nebraska atop the North. It makes the rivalry more enjoyable. I'll root against them if Colorado is needing a them to lose in order for us to take the North however.

As far as the poor CSU fans go. I discovered this when I moved to Ft. Collins. Most of them rooted against us year round. That really ticked me off. Because, other than when they were playing us I enjoyed seeing them win. I always figured they were just jealous and bitter. Needless to say during my time in Fort Collins I became a Ewe hater. Not having lived there in 4 years I have overcome that and like to see the Ewes do well again.

**** em both! Go Buffs!
