Darrell Scott in the wildcat

Scott as the "QB" in a wild cat formation would seem to give us a lot of advantages over other teams that use the wild cat.

I believe he threw the ball a little in high school and could possibly be a Pat White type QB. (Maybe not quite as good) I don't know if he could learn the offense well enough to be the qb on every play but in the wild cat situations I think he could excel.

Plus he is taller than both TH and CH.

I really enjoyed the Wild Horses that the Broncos used and Orton seemed to like that as well.

Tyler Hansen would have to be accounted for if he split out wide with Scott as "QB". And Lock or Speedy in the slot giving him a running back to hand off to.

Just throwing this out there. I know it has no chance at happening.

This would require all of Spring and Fall practice to install, even though other teams can roll it out in a week.

I think that could really work, andif you found a way to mix CH into the line-up, you could sell it to DH.:smile2:

I'd like Piss Bomber to comment on if he's seen anything like this being installed? Highly doubtful, but, why not? Are we going to gain less yards on offense?

They have plays similar to the WC in the playbook because they ran direct snaps to Hugh Charles quite a bit two or three years ago. They also ran plays out of the shotgun that were handoffs to a WR in motion last year. It wouldn't be hard to put the two together and come up with something that would work.

It also would help our O-line, getting the ball right to DScott (or Lockridge) would mean they don't have to hold their blocks as long before the RB can get to the hole.

jesus man I've said this **** too... GL tho. PB said something about a WISHBONE formation. would be wild.

Bad idea, DScott has straight line ability, I dont think he has that kind of footwork for the wildcat. I have a reason for saying that by the way.

what footwork? the guy who receives the snap either hands it off or runs up the middle for the most part... seems like a perfect position for Scott!

Then falls down when the first guy touches him.

thought that was sumler's M.O.... Scott runs over whoever is in front of him, be that a DL, LB, or usually, his own OL....

huh? for 2 years i've waited and waited and given ds the benefit of the doubt on every carry. -dissapointed, scott runs over people? i keep making excuses like he needs a lot of room, well who wouldn't look good with a lot of room. i know our offense requires a superman to be able to make any yards at all, and it's a good thing we have one-stewart

He meant he runs over High School kids. I am giving DS no benefit of the doubt. He's had more than 2 carries here and he looks ok at Toledo with big holes and looks unimpressive 100% of the other times. Speedy is our #1 back and Sumler is #2 until I see different. DS lost his "star-rating" in Feb of '07. Show me you can play. Get mad at someone. Come on man!!!!

In fairness to DScott, Toledo is the only game where he's seen more than 4 carries, and he did look good. He's a rhythm back. He needs to get in a groove to get going.

Every RB looks like a Heisman winner against Toledo, just last week Western Michigan's RB had 155 yds and averaged 11yds/carry.

There are too many excuses for Scott. His whole career its either been he's out of shape, he's injured, or he needs a lot of carries to get into his rythm. Bottom line is he needs to produce when the opportunity presents itself.

I won't argue that. But I also wouldn't call it 'opportunity' when he gets 1 carry a half.

Speedy is unquestionably the #1 back, but I think DScott should be the #2 instead of Sumler. Give him the rock when Speedy needs a breather.

Scott's vision is questionable. Not sure you want him making the reads in a zone option/wildcat scheme.

The wildcat only works well if you have an opine (especially interior) that can run block. I think the line has proven it cannot run block very well and therefore Scott will be contacted behind the line of scrimmage more often than not.

As a Dolphins fan I watch Ronnie Brown run it every week and he simply does it better than almost any RB can. Tons of teams are doing their version of it, but it just doesn't work nearly as well. I don't know how or why Ronnie is so good at it, but I doubt it hurts that he has done it for years at Auburn and now for Miami. It also doesn't hurt that teams have to respect him handing it off to a motioning Ricky Williams. I am of the believers that DS has talent and should play more, but I don't think there's any reason to believe he can run the wildcat effectively.

Some teams might have used a bluechip Nation's #1 RB like this, and others would use him to 2 or 3 plays a game for a few yards.

Geez have u ever ****ing played football before? If he's in the wildcat, he will have to step one way or the other and get up field. He is a straight line runner book it. When u have broke down games like i have then open your mouth.

errrum. You really do have a stick up your ass don't you? Also, you suck at writing. However, I forgive you. Please explain further.

No stick up my ass, DS would not good at the wildcat. Watch the film and see what the guy does well, then you will know. You suck at knowing football so I forgive you, dick.

 you are a sensitive soul. Any other gems of wisdom? Seriously, chill out some. You are acting like a tool.

So what you're saying is that if we've never played football, we're incapable of rendering an opinion of the play on the field?

Thanks hawk.
