My own conspiracy theory...

Here is my timeline...

1. I've heard, but no credibility to associate with rumor, that it was gently suggested by somebody in the AD to DH to start playing Tyler.

2. Tyler burns redshirt, and is acknowledged by coaching staff as the starter from here on out.

3. Dan does a 180 because he doesn't like being told what to do with "his" team, misses the Big 12 teleconference to avoid questions, then out of the blue announces that the qb situation is way less settled than previously suggested from his own mouth.

My theory is that there is not only division in the locker room, but between Hawk and Bohn. Think of it as you will

I don't (yet) know how strongly I agree with you on these points but I do find something odd with the timing of playing Tyler and then missing the teleconference.

Why not?

Heck, the conspiracy theories aren't even mutually exclusive. Maybe someone up high told Hawkins that Cody needed to sit out and rest his arm. :smile2:

How about a disconnect with Hawk, Bohn and Kiesau. Kiesau cannot like being messed with, no matter how much he wants to support the boss.

When I look back at what Hawkins has done since he got here I find myself believing that he micromanages everything. Player groupings, who plays and who doesn't play all go through him. I believe he gets the final word on anything that the assistant coaches come up with. I'm getting the bad vibration that he is basically a sneaky little buzzard. There is no conspiracy about anything. What Hawkins wants, Hawkins gets. And he will say anything, whether it is true or not, to defend whatever he decides.

He may also be getting some heat from Bohn and he isn't taking it very well because he was given a free rein from the beginning. I believe the AD and administration have been catching a lot of heat and they are finally telling Hawkins he needs to produce. I can guarantee you that Bohn and DiStefano did not enjoy reading what I sent to them.

I would bet the house that Keisau (sp?) threw his headset on the ground and said he would resign if they didn't pull CH just after the pick 6....

What did you send them...a retraction of Pissbomber's six figure contribution?

I just put it on the line about all the nonsense going on in addition to the Fairbanks-like winning percentage. My donation every year sure doesn't qualify me as a big roller donor. I've given a small amount every year for quite a few years. I didn't put it in my message, but I won't be donating as long as the current coach remains in charge. It is a waste of money. Losing the first 2 games was unacceptable. Failure to have a winning season and a bowl game in year 4 is a complete failure. And that doesn't even include all the BS we keep hearing from the coach. I wonder how the current quarterback fiasco will work out?

I'm sure you opened thier eyes to how bad the team has been playing this year. Must have been a real wake-up call. I agree. They probably didnt enjoy reading it.

If Bohn and DiStefano haven't see how poorly the season is going, anything I say won't open their eyes. If they haven't seen it then they are also on Planet Hawkins.

They had better start worrying about the loss of revenue and donations. Whether anyone likes it or not, the reality is that athletics is the face of a university. This mess will result in a loss of prestige and a public perception that the university tolerates poor performances all the way around. The public doesn't see the accomplishments of the faculty. Right or wrong, a lot of the public makes judgments about the all around quality of a university by what they see in athletics.
