OK...great win on Saturday (although, very grateful that Briscoe dropped the TD on the last play...).

If KSju wins this weekend, then the pressure on Danny comes back in a big way. Danny is good for one decent win per year, it seems (OU in 07, WV last year, and Kansas this year).

In my view, the Kansas victory does not buy Danny anything if the game is not a turning point. We must win the rest of our games, with the exception of OSU. Anything short of that, then we need to go a different direction.

Your incredible negativity is well noted.

Now why don't you go beat up some puppies or kittens or something.

Why don't we at least give this season a chance and not put EVERY****IGTHING on this week's game?

Seriously.

The KSU game is a huge, huge game. If we win, then we control our own destiny in the North. Lose and forget the rest of the season, because the North will be won by another team unless we can run the table, and that ain't going to happen.

Let's talk Saturday afternoon....

I am hopeful that we saw a turning point....seriously. If not, then I am fed up with waiting around.

KSU is as close to a "must win" as a game gets. This season's in its depth throes if we lose. And long term, we need to get this road monkey off our backs or we're never going to be good again.

The pressure is building....I hope it will last....(rep to anyone who knows which movie I am quoting......).

You are right...hate to give you a postive rep....but here it comes!

My Old Lady was a Willy Wonka Candy tester when she was little so I have to know that movie. They used to send her samples and she would approve or disapprove. Some kids club deal I'm guessing.

back on subject here, not that fat chicks aren't interesting or anything....

This game is a test - a turning point. I personally don't think KSU is a good team, but I think the North does (right now) consist of 6 teams that can beat any other, and especially at home.

All of our Road Games will be challenges. All of our home games (minus aTm) will also be tests as they are better teams.

Saturday will tell us if we hit a turning point AND the team has enough leadership to focus on the task at hand and bring it, or if they let down and bask in their glory.

To speculate about whether 5 wins from here or 4 can keep Dan his job is a waste of energy.

I for one want to find out real soon, are we a good team, or a one hit wonder? I worry about the mental toughness of this team. They've shown fight and resiliency lately that makes me hopeful, but the first few games make me question.

Is this team TOUGH enough? Tough enough to shut down KSU run game? Tough enough to open some holes for CU to run? KSU will try to make CU one-dimensional and will invite Hansen to beat them. They will have a plan for sure and they will be fired up. Personally, this is now one of the most interesting games of the conference season as either of these teams could go on to titles from here, or be one-hit wonders.

Seriously.

Because every fu*king thing is on this week's game. Lose to KSU, and the season is in the toilet. Lose this week, and last week means absolutely nothing. Positivity in the face of reality is called delusion.

"giving the season a chance" is fine. This week IS the season. And after that, the Missouri game IS the season. That's the result of stepping on our dicks against CSU and Toledo.

Sacky is right. One win proves nothing. This team has a lot to prove and I hope they stay angry, pissed, and focused.

The K State game is huge, but not a season-ender if we lose. The North Champ is going to have at least 3 conference losses, possibly 4.

:yeahthat:

If the goal is to win the North, it's pretty likely that you could have at least two conference losses and still accomplish the feat. I would maintain that beating KU does mean something, imo they are the best team in the north even though given their schedule their final conference record may not reflect it.

Every home game is winnable, as the best team to trip to Folsom this year just left town. Therefore, they could conceivably only need to win 1 road game.

That being said, it would sure be helpful to win Saturday.

:blah:

Anybody who doesn't recognize this game as the watershed of the year is fooling themselves. Lose this game, and the KU game is totally meaningless, and the rest of the season is basically screwed.

I wouldn't say the season is totally screwed as there would still be 5 games left to play and as we've already seen from this team..... Anything can happen. But any goodwill/good feelings from the KU win is down the toilet, and the hounds will be fresh on Hawk's trail again.

I hear there are rumors that the state legislature may shut the school down entirely if we lose to KSU this weekend so...fingers crossed.

Seriously though, as important as this game is for our chances at winning the North, no one is running away with the division. A loss would be far worse for Hawkins future here IMO.

Is it impossible to win the north or go to a bowl with a loss Saturday?? Of course not. Does it become extremely hard to see how this team is going to achieve those things with a loss Saturday???

very, she would pass for a CU Cheerleader...ZING!

You may post nebraska's long-term record vs. CU. You can talk about the number of total wins nebraska accumulated between 1962 and 2000. You can brag about Heisman recipients and National Championships.

But really, do you want to start comparing the quality of coeds between CU and nebraska? Let me answer that for you. You don't (unless you intend to apply the USDA's definition of "quality"). It would get ugly (intended) for nebraska.

Yes, it is perfectly reasonable to expect CU to lose to KSU and then win the remainder of the games on the schedule.

Seriously? It is *extremely* unlikely that the Buffs win more than one of OSU, Missouri, and Nebraska. They are all better teams than we are at this point.

So yes, I would say that a loss to KSU would qualify as a "season ender". We lost to CSU and Toledo... we aren't going to sweep our games against ranked or nearly ranked teams.

I love when posters make arguments against points never made (note: this post is dripping with sarcasm as well).

Juicebox got his own ass in this situation by running off his cakehole about some ridiculous 10 wins no excuses and then completely failing to deliver. By losing games he had no business losing and being out coached, he is now in a situation where he has to win games like a K State. Remember he is the one that got himself in this situation of being stuck between a rock and a hard place. It's his job to lead this team out of his dilemma. He's now faced with a situation where he has to consistently win - something in almost 4 years he has been unable to do.

Losing the OOC games, as bad as it was, had no bearing on our standing in the Big12. He was always going to have to win the KSU game if he wanted to win the North.

That has not changed.

Bingo, I think its must win for Hawk.. If we can't beat a crappy KjSU team on the road with a coach in his first year, then exactly where are we going as a program?

Expect Victory and if we don't win its on Talkins..
