Sense of resignation

I returned here after listening to the game (couldn't get it on TV, maybe good for my TV.) I was expecting an outpouring of rage and anger over not only losing to a team that we should be beating every year, not only showing a complete lack of fire and emotion, but getting our butts kicked and reverting to the same crap that has proven to be a failure over the past few years.

I just about choked when I heard the call on the radio "Cody's pass falls short of Ebner". Why in the h*** are either one of them in the game. We can't even get a play called in time much less execute a simple offense. Had we scored (instead of old "knows the offense Cody" throwing another interception in the endzone) we still wouldn't have had a chance since we had already burned two TO's just trying to get plays in and set up.

Instead of an outpouring of rage and anger what I sense is sadder, a sense of innevitability, of acceptance, knowing that Bohn isn't going to change the coach and the coach isn't going to change his losing ways.

I credit Hawkins with some good things. With the exception of a couple of positions we clearly have better young talent here than we have had since the early years of Slick Rick. We have a team that seems to have turned the corner in terms of public perception, doing well in the classroom and building a more positive public image staying out of the papers for negative stuff.

Unfortunately to paraphrase Hawk himself "THIS IS BIG XII FOOTBALL." Not being able to call and run plays on time four years into the system is inexcusable, not being able be at least competitive on special teams is not acceptable for a coach in Hawk's position. Losing to teams like CSU at home, Toledo, Montana State, almost getting beat by Eastern Washington are not excusable even if you do get one or two big wins most years.
Playing a QB who has proven that he is not a Big XII starting quality player because he is your kid and playing his friends even though they are the same is not in any way explainable at this level.

Unless Bohn grows up and and is willing to realize that this is a train that is heading for the edge of the cliff and gaining speed, and is willing to take action we may find this program in a hole that it will take years to climb out of.

The fact that the most ardent fans have already given up on caring enough to get mad shows that we are almost there.

End of rant, had to get it out.

I hope you'll retain the specifics of the rant in your head for months to come. Maybe a year or two if Hawk's still here, and you can see if anything changed OTHER than degree of heat.

Good rant.

Honestly speaking, what will change. In what one way have we seen Hawk grow and mature as a coach in the past two years. I'll give him a pass on the first two because of the situation he walked into but in what way has he improved as a coach in the past two years? I haven't seen it!

That's how I felt. I wasn't even slightly upset at anything other then C Hawk getting put back into the game. This sounds bad, but I feel that the team is hopeless for this season, and I also felt like I didn't even care that we were losing today.

I feel even more upset that I have at any time this year-and that's saying something. The thing that pisses me off more than anything is how Hawkins is fu**ing over Tyler Hansen. For a man who preaches from the mountain top to do the right thing and do it the right way, this is beyond hypocritical. You DO NOT watch a young man give up his redshirt year two years in a row and then pull the bull**** he did today. It is completely unacceptable to do that to someone-especially when the one you're substituting him for has no more chance of success than I do. Instead you realize you need to go in a different direction and no matter what happens, you give that kid a legitimate shot. Is the only decent thing to do.

Hawkins actions today showed me HE has no FAITH or TRUST in his own team. And when a coach doesn't trust his own team anymore it is time to go.

There is no excuse for putting Hansen on the bench in a 2 min drill. If he was not ready to run the show, then why did you pull his RS. This is the same crap they did last year, and it didn't work. Hawkins time at Colorado should end this year. I wish him the best. I will always think the Dan did a lot of good for our program when it was needed, and I think Bohn made the right decision to hire him. Not let see if we can make the right decision to go in a different direction and go after Brian Kelly.

I'm sure Hansen could have at least matched Cody, completed 40% of his passes and thrown a pick during that 2 minute drill. How do I know this? Because he completed over half his passes on the day (despite the drops), didn't throw an INT, and it's easier to complete passes in that situation when the defense is playing clock and giving cushion.

On top of that, many times a QB starts to find a rythm during the 2 min drill and it is enough to snap him out of a funk.

Hansen was never given the chance today.

Damn good point. Often that change of tempo to a quicker pace can help get a QB on track.

I feel the same sense of resignation. I was pissed in the second qtr, but the half I almost didnt care anymore. Hack is making me and many, many fans apathetic about CU football. It really sucks because I use to be so fanatical about our Buffs, I look forward all this year for football to start, to see our BUffs on the field, and see the players out there battling it out for a bowl game. Hack has beat yet another year of being joyful about the Buffs. This asshole needs to go, I just cant deal with the heartache anymore. I will still watch, but I'll prob just record it and watch it later after I found out the score. Seems crappy I know, but if I'm tired of watching crappy CU football. I wont get too excited anymore until this pile of schit of coach is long gone.
