Thanks to Buff21 for putting together an amazing post over on Buffscoop. Our playmakers either leave the program, don't see the field enough, or weren't recruited by Hawkins. The facts do indeed speak for themselves. - Buffnik

=============

This is quite an interesting list. I go to 21 because there is a tie at 37 yards towards the end of the top 20.

I thought it would be an interesting look because I was thinking today that for a program that is starved for play makers it doesn't seem that our coaches and even sometimes us fans appreciate the ones that we do have.

Here is the list:

1. 68- Riar Geer (pass)
2. 65- Josh Smith (pass)
3. 47- Brian Lockridge (run)
4. 44- Josh Smith(pass)
4. 44- Andre Simmons (pass)
6. 43- Brian Lockridge (run)
7. 42- Darrell Scott (run)
7. 42- Anthony Wright (pass)
9. 41- Hugh Charles (run)
10. 40- Scotty McKnight (pass)
10. 40- Josh Smith (pass)
10. 40- Demetrius Sumler (pass)
13. 38- Josh Smith (pass)
13. 38- Josh Smith (pass)
13. 38- Josh Smith (pass)
13. 38- Josh Smith (pass)
13. 38- Darrell Scott (pass)
18. 37- Darrell Scott (run)
18. 37- Scotty McKnight (pass)
18. 37- Kendrick Celestine (pass)
18. 37- Hugh Charles (run)

17 of the 21 plays were made by players that this board and the fan base often complained that they weren't getting enough PT (Josh Smith, Darrell Scott, Andre Simmons, Anthony Wright, Hugh Charles, Brian Lockridge, Kendrick Celestine)

11 of the 21 plays were made by players who left the program after just two years in the program (Smith, Scott, Celestine)

I think those two stats kind of speak for themselves.

I think this just goes to show that the talent we had that was capable of making explosive plays was never really embraced by this coaching staff. Smith and Scott both felt compelled enough to leave that they were willing to sit out a football season just to go somewhere else. Most of the names that appear on this list spent significant time on the sidelines at CU under Hawkins.

Lockridge has two of the six longest offensive plays on the field for CU since 2007 yet how much time does he spend on the field? If he isn't healthy now then what is the excuse for how little Lockridge played against CSU? His lone carry of the game was a TD.

3 for Scott 0 for Speedy.. not knocking, just saying. People seemed to have it out against Scott ever since he showed up overweight. Wright and Simmons both on the list, yet have barely seen the field all season.

I was massively bummed-out when J-Fly left. Guys who can turn a game on one play are hard to replace. They don't ride the pine if the coach cares about winning.

Most depressing stat?

15-30

I need to look up how many total offensive plays we've had during that time then do a comparison against other peer teams - y'know, the ones who want X wins with "no excuses".

Please don't do the reverse research on this topic (longest plays from scrimmage against)

Naw... we all know Cody's got the longest completion - 92 yards for a TD.

Say, any word on Cody being starting RB yet? I understand there's an opening.
