Whats your favorite moment against ISU?

Don't know why I thought of this nine games into the season, but thought this would be cool. For each game everybody tell your favorite moment against the opponent. Fuskers and other opposing fans, feel free to tell your favorite moment from your team vs. the clowns as well.

Whats your favorite moment against Iowa St?

I would have to say in '94 when Salaam busted his big run to go over 2,000.

However, after the game was one of the saddest moments in buff history when McCartney announced his resignation.:sad1:

I would have to say that the 94 game has to be the crowning moment in CU history. After that my favorite was beating a decent ISU team in 2002 in Boulder to clinch the north before the Nebraska game. Of course we rushed the field.

When they got my heart going again with those electric paddle things. Why is this in the football forum?

I have sort of a love-hate relationship with that ISU game in '94. Loved watching Salaam go over 2,000 and clinch the Heisman. Hated hearing Mac was retiring. A true range of emotions that day.

Mine was ISU '92. Last home game as a Buff. Blocked down on a Cyclone LB and burried him into the turf. Good way to go out.

Crosby's 60 yard FG vs. the Clones in 2004...that kick had more leg on it than any other FG Ive ever seen and wouldve been good from 70 distancewise (though since it bounced in off the left upright, it wouldve been wide left if it was any farther away)...

Memorable ISU moments? :

:yeahthat:

Only games I can say were "memorable" about the Clowns is the 2005 and the 2007 losses.. We should pound these clowns every damn year.

The Slick Rick 97 game where we were down big was a nice comeback in a sorry season..

1994 with Rashaan going over over 2,000 - but added significance for me in that I carried out the Red, White, and Blue and called cadence for the Color Guard for the game. Awesome feeling standing at the 50 with the colors while the band played the National Anthem!

Going Sinker...

I have Lamont Warren's long TD run in '91 burned into my brain forever for some reason. Snowy, windy day in Ames, tough going offensively all day until that play which clinched a close one - back in the days when we never considered losing to ISU.

Crosby's 60 yarder in '04, and the North clincher in '02.

Even though we lost, the '00 game in Boulder always comes to mind. Snowed all day. The tailgate, the game, and the post tailgate, it just kept snowing. Wasn't much attendance that day, but it was a great time for those who did stay.... except for the final score of course.

Memorable ISU moments? Must be a slow news day :smile2:

Trying to do this for everybody we play, just a thought that crossed my mind, too bad I didn't think o f it earlier. If you think about it, there are a lot of good moments against ISU.

The year @ ISU it was so cold McCartney passed on his morning jog. I remember hearing that Mac NEVER missed his jog except this one time. The players new it was bad when Mac said "men, it's bitter cold out there". One of the guys said he just started praying. THought that was pretty funny. I think I had just moved our here and was listening to the game on the way to Denver.

Yea that... but honestly, I can't remember much of ISU. Don't know if there just weren't many memorable moments or if ISU just isn't memorable.

1991...

May not be my favorite but on October 13th 1984 Colorado played
Iowa St and beat them 23-21 because ISU missed a chip shot FG on
the last play of the game. This was an important day for two reasons....

1) that ended up being CU only win of the year going 1-10.
2) Bill Marolt signed McCartney to a contract extention that actually worked.

'94 is probably my ONLY memory of any game played againast ISU. Salaam passing 2,000 yards and then Mac retiring has put that one forever in my mind. The rest are all very forgettable.
