Best case scenario is that he decides to stay at CU and gets granted a medical redshirt for the 2009 season. He's a good guy with a world of talent. I'd love to have him back and it would be doubly good if we didn't have Speedy, B-Lock and Darrell all in the same class.
I'd like to see him come back as well. I find it odd the JFly says he's leaving football, ends up at UCLA, and is all of the sudden playing football again. :huh: It's obviouis Scott wanted to play with his uncle.
He can't go to USC unless he wants to sit on the bench until he's a SR.
He could go probably go to SDSU or SJS. I bet Fresno state would take him and use him well. Sarkesian would probably jump to have him a UDub.

If one of the reasons he left was to be with JS, and now he knows that's unlikely (unless, I suppose, he wants to walk-on and fight for time on his own dime) ... maybe he will stay. Although you never know whether that's an option if bridges have been burned.
I would imagine Hagan would have to take a few deep breaths.
Some times you say some dumb ****, this is a prime example. Fire the player to keep a disgruntled player never ever works. The best case is that DS goes on his merry way and lands somewhere that needs him and makes him feel like the player he was in highschool. Then maybe he can then begin to reach his potential.
I disagree. Not with the part that I sometimes say dumb sh!t. On that I agree. But I'd love to have the guy back on the team. He's a talented player. We need all the talent we can get. If he and the players can get over whatever differences they have, I think that would be the best situation for everybody involved. We all make mistakes in life. If he feels like he made a mistake, why would we be so quick to tell him to hit the bricks?
And we wouldn't be firing the coach to retain the player. We'd be firing the coach because he's a sh!tty coach.
So did Kendrick Celestine. Apparently they're ready to take him back. Kids make mistakes. We need playmakers and I don't think we're in a position to be too choosy, to be honest.
Grossnickle will be the punter next year. If you watch them in warmups, he's kicking the ball 10 yards deeper and much higher every time. The only reason that I can see to redshirt him is that Dilallo is doing OK, and they want some separation in the classes.
Different situations if you ask me. Celestine had non-football related, real life issue to deal with.

And I don't remember when Celestine quit, but I have to think that Scott walking away from the team mid-season the way he did would be hard for his teammates to deal with.
And the way he handled it with Hagan and Hawk, I can't imagine him returning without a change in coaching staff...
But as DBT said, it was an ill-advised decision on his part to walk away mid-season. Whatever would happen after that, that was not going to work out well... :sad1:

Another reason to get rid of Hawk! I would take DS over Hawk any day.
celestine left after the second game of the year last year. totally different situation though going home to be with the woman you got pregnant.
If DS really decided he wanted to stay I'd welcome him back IF he had a "Come to Jesus" moment and decided to start working. If he doesn't, then it's not that big a loss. I agree with what Jashon said about him.
I swear, the way some of you cream your pants over a kid just because some "guru" decided to give him 5*, is pretty pathetic.

We have a home and home with Cal the next two years, Bohn will not release him to Cal.
I think there is a legit reason for Scott walking away and that the team could understand it. However, this discussion is moot till hawk is gone.
